I have the radiowow with blue backlight, and the sihuadon black with orange backlight. I have not noticed the battery drain when off that you speak of, even after a month or two of storage. Love these little radios for quick trips.

This is so close to a great emergency radio. It's missing weather band, non-standard battery, and the battery bleed issue kill it for that purpose though.

Found that batt can be flipped so the contact is not made.#2 solar cell can charge the rig when used w/12 to 5vdc

If the battery is dead, does the radio work when you put it on charge or do you have to wait until the battery is charged?

Absolutely bad battery. Nice be 18650 size.
