The commercial for FE7 was such a meme that even Intelligent Systems decided to make a funny reference to it in Fire Emblem Heroes, as with the inclusion of Dorcas, some of his voice lines made references to it.

The Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly commercial was alright on the surface, but I have to consider it the worst because it directly led to the game's composer leaving the series. Early in development, the original composer, Stewart Copeland (of the Police,) was shown the ad that Universal wanted to use (which they did,) and realized that if Universal was associating Spyro with toe-tapping country music, then his atmospheric tracks simply didn't fit anymore. The ads in this video were pretty terrible, but none of them dealt direct damage to a series like that one.

I think I understand why Number 1 is there. Compared to the other commercials, this one feels outright disrespectful to the product (and the viewer, for that matter.) For how zany and irrelevant the others were, none of them crossed that line the way this one did. I would personally sue the ad company for even making that commercial, never mind greenlighting it.

I remember one of the commercials for Super Smash Bros. For 3DS. It took place with a kid going on a public bus and when he saw a man wanting to settle it with him in Smash, the kid struck a pose and revealed Mario, (I think) while the man got up from his seat and started screaming and wailing like a banshee that was supposed to somehow resemble Donkey Kong for some reason. Now I only remember seeing the commercial once, but that guy's screaming was so cringe and unfitting that I looked away from the TV wondering what the Hell I was watching

On one hand, the team behind FNF Mario's Madness managed to give the Unbeatable crew a massive glow-up in visuals while also making a 10 minute banger of a song that really hammers home the message. Seriously though, yes it utterly fails as advertisement, but I believe it would have been a hit if it came out specifically as an avant garde art piece. To quote Caddicarus, "it's weird, it's mysterious, it's creepy, it's minimal, it's intriguing, it's uncaring, it dares you to find out more about it, and it probably didn't sell any consoles which is why I love it". *Ain't no defending number 1, on the other hand.*

Sure, mixing live action with gameplay footage was the norm in the past, but even those had memorable commercials that presented what was supposed to. I'm curious... A commercial I want to bring up that is kind of creepy was a commercial for the PS1 that featured a Scottish girl with a bizarre alien-esque face talking about Mental Wealth and literally had no actual gameplay footage of any of the games on the system.... It's really just a nothing trailer. 9 Fire Emblem Commercial: "Trust nobody" Didn't know I was playing a Social Deduction Game not Fire Emblem. 8 Mario Bros YOU CAN NOT BEAT US commercial: The only reason why this commercial got popular was because of the FNF mod Mario Madness. Now I will say that song is a bop but yeez. 7 Gizmondo I can do anything Commercial: Wow a Deltarune X Bee Movie Commercial for a obscure console that was linked to Mafia All I can say is Bee Me me bee. 6 Kirby Super Star US Commercial: That guy hated Tubular from Mario world so much that he became Inflated himself from the Balloon power up itself. Ok, wow... that Canadian Metroid Prime 2 kinda pissed me off. The first reason is that it is highly tasteless, comparing the struggles of drug addicts to an ACTION game! I've seen Lifetime movies that treat drug addiction more respectfully. But the other problem is that it almost feels Anti-Metroid with how dedicated it seems in not representing Metroid Prime 2. It'd suit Other M more! Yeah, I went there. XD Between that and this video's number one pick I think I should make a video on Canadian video game commercials. Why's our weird cousin so weird?

Oh my god, seeing that PS3 commercial reminds me of a PS1 commercial that may as well have been for the PS3. I actually love surreal horror so I unironically love them to be honest. But the PS3 was not the only one to have commercials like that, like I said. Chris Cunningham directed a commercial where Scottish actress Fiona MacLaine talks to us about what annoys her about humans; we shouldn't dwell on what others achieve in the past, like going to the moon; we should land on our own moon metaphorically, focus on bettering our mental wealth. In a vaccuum, that's actually a pretty good message, it's pretty interesting... But I didn't even mention the editing! Fiona was given a big alien head, talking about not being a human in creation, while there's this strange noise plays throughout it, giving it a bit of a chilling atmosphere. As if the white background and bright light over her head wasn't enough. And then there's the context of this somehow being made to advertise the Playstation. Yeah, apparently that has something to do with individual achievements. That giggle at the end would be kinda cute for the tagline accompanying it; "Do not underestimate the power of Playstation." Sounds a wee bit like a threat to me! Everything about it makes me kinda think of David Lynch... And I love it! It's chilling, it's weird, it's got an interesting message, it only vaguely has to do with the thing they are selling, and it leaves me with one question: Did we ever find out where Grimsby is?

The last video game commercials I ever saw on TV were the ones for Mario and Luigi bowsers inside story, Mario and Luigi dream team and Pokemon games such as Pokémon the Pokémon card games and Pokemon black and white as well as Pokémon black 2 and white 2 and finally that one PlayStation commercial with the creepy toy baby one.

I think that the "robot partner" the Australian NES advert is referring to is R.O.B since because of the video game crash, the NES was heavily marketed around him being a supposed toy, and I think that saying "you cannot beat us" is a sort of challenge, trying to get players to try and prove them wrong. Also because I have to... WhAt HaPpEnEd To DuCkAsS?

Well, that's in the West, actually. In Japan, they actually did separate commercials for Xtreme 2 and X6, both of which used the exact same song, which was also used in X6. Keep in mind, that is one of the very few good things about X6 I will acknowledge. I'll give X7 some credit, it was built from scratch, which certainly doesn't help X6 at all with the fact it was built on top of X4 like X5 before it.

Intresting to see different countries take on commercials, especially video games. From what I’ve seen, Australia, America, and Canada. Have more showboating commercials, to try and get your attention. But here in the uk, we just got gameplay, with a bit of narration about how good the game was, and that was it. The whole, “settle it in smash!” Thing, wasn’t a thing in the uk, they just showed gameplay for smash 4, told you how good it was and what consoles it was on, and that was it. Just honest advertisement. Also with the Wii u, it was the same as the other uk video games commercials, but I’d only see one for one game, like mario 3D world, or DKTF, like once or twice a, then never saw them again. Compared to the switch, where adds would play multiple times a day, for multiple games.
