DAY FOUR in Dallas we woke up at the incredible Westin Galleria and decided to take the day to drive out to Fort Worth and explore it to the fullest. Fort Worth is the next largest city. Here are the top things to do in Fort Worth!

Our first stop in Fort Worth was the Stockyards. This is basically the Wild West of Texas. Everyday at 11:30 am and 4 pm you can see a cattle drive. We then headed to buy some souvenirs.
After that we headed to Cooper’s BBQ, at only a 2-minute walk away it was the ultimate BBQ feast! Brisket, ribs, sausage and lots of beans!
Lastly we headed to the Fort Worth Zoo which is famous for being the #1 zoo in the United States! We saw everything from Asian Turtles, to Lions, Penguins and Lone Horn Rhinos!
On the ride home, our Uber driver decided to give us a quick tour of Downtown Fort Worth.

Yes, both Dallas and Ft. Worth have zoos. If you have to choose, go to the FW zoo. It's definitely better.

I live in Fort Worth and not once have I been inside Coopers Barbecue. I've been to the Fort Worth Zoo many times. My dad used to take my siblings and myself to the Zoo every Easter. Jimmy Stewart used to be a supporter for the Fort Worth Zoo I believe. I do like the Zoo. I've seen the stockyards for sure and I have been inside Billy Bob's when the Soap Stars showed up,I waited along time there for autograph signing. That was the year that " The Incredibles" was on video.

Grapevine - where DFW Airport is located has so many good things to do as well. There’s several festivals on Main St. throughout the year: GrapeFest, Main St Days, Christmas Festival. And it’s absolutely worth checking out the Texas State Fair in the autumn located in Dallas. Cowtown hosts the annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo in February, can’t miss that if you’re in town. If you emjou flea markets, check out Trader’s Village in Arlington on the weekends, right by AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Park, and Six Flags. It’s such a thriving metroplex that it’s impossible for me to list everything there is to do!

Hey, if anyone is planning on visiting, see if you can do it around the time of the Alliance Air Show. Because Fort Worth also has a fairly rich aviation culture. Its a great show. Typically lasts from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Its an all day event, and its annual. They have a website for it i think. If you can make it, you should try!

I came from Norwalk Ca (small city in Los Angeles) to visit my sister and her fam who just recently moved down here I went to the StockYard (Awsome af) real cowboy vibes, also went to the F.W zoo (super awsome) and went to Coopers BBQ.... well about Coopers... it’s a nice location cool vibes, although the food was a bit more expensive than other spots. I had 1beef rib and slice of Brisket it came out to almost $30 and it was heavily salted a lil too much for me but good experience that that same Pit Master was there so that was cool to see him (July 2020)

Davidsbeenhere Yeah. Back in the day, (and i guess still to this day) Fort Worth and Dallas have a bit of a friendly rivalry. To get an upper hand, Fort Worth decided to embrace the cultural side of Texas. Dallas simply got big and made a bunch of fancy skyscrapers.

Drive 50-60 miles West to Mineral Wells, Audie Murphy trained for WW2 at Camp Wolters & I was one of the first babies born at Beach Army Hospital. I was also Fort Wolters where many of the pilots were trained to fly helicopters in Vietnam. In Fort Worth, Carswell AFB was where the Roswell Aliens were taken after the UFO crashed.

Its not in the center of both cities.. It's in the center of Tarrant County and Dallas. Also Fort Worth Tx and Dallas are two different cities. Fort Worth Tx being the superior city to Dallas. Dallas is just a tap bigger and the media or what not goes there. Fort Worth aka Funky Town Tx

Next time, be sure to visit the art museums, specifically the Modern and Kimbell. And there are better BBQ spots (Rail Head, Heim most people like Woodshed). I'd recommend Fairmount area for food (Spiral Diner is there in case you want to try good vegan food) and you may have heard of Joe T Garcia's (classic Tex Mex). Another must-see if you go back is Bass Performance Hall. A great spot to see a show.
