You mentioned the little parks in downtown Dallas. About 20 years ago, the city wasted about a million dollars on a study asking why people don’t spend time outside in the downtown area. Obvious answer - it’s hot…several days of 104 to 107 in July, 2022. And it’s cold in winter. We actually get more wind than the “Windy City / Chicago. Cold plus wind means it’s uncomfortable outside.

@@steveludwig4200 If you haven't been to the Cattle Drive in down town, it is certainly worth it. The art museum, the Perot Science Museum and the Holocaust Museum are certainly worth it. Going up and going out on the Ball - whatever it is called - is worth it. There are more things to do in downtown Dallas. For my money, Dealey Plaza and the 6th Floor Museum are just OK.

I'm noticing in a lot of your shots, it seemed quite empty of locals except for your fort worth gun fight shots. I just came back from Dallas and it felt empty. I thought it was the February winter causing the lack of people. What were your overall thoughts on the locals and the energy they add or don't add to the city's energy?
@TouristtoLocal2 жыл бұрын
Good question! We had filmed most of this during the weekday, so we figured the lack of people on the street must have been because people were at work. During the time we were at the Fort Worth gun fight, it was a weekend, so we definitely noticed a lot more people out. I think during the middle of the week it is just dead outside!

So I want to ask a Texan their honest opinion of how life is like in Dallas, Houston, and Austin because I’m very interested in moving out there to be near family. There just seems to be many positives in each city that it’s so hard to choose. I’ll definitely be visiting just not sure which one first.
@TouristtoLocal2 жыл бұрын
When we were considering moving to texas we felt the same way! Each city is so distinctly unique. After visiting the big ones, we'd have to say San Antonio would be the best fit for us. There's plenty to do and we loved the river walk!
@lancehaddockable2 жыл бұрын
You can get some of the same things in all of the places. The difference would be the community that comes from the people. I am always between San Antonio and Houston. Houston is large but the way people make you feel and the way Houstonians come together. It would be the place for me

Thanks for the video. Dallas and the state of Texas in general, “good” economy but nothing really special for entertainment (other than sports). Plazas, eateries, parks that you can find in any other state/city in the US. In my opinion San Antonio may offer something more unique. Assuming these are the top things to do in this city is not bad, but Dallas looks very average. Did you miss something?
