How let's talk about the downsize of HF. Over the weekend my son and I went to buy a paint sprayer. Got it home and unpacking the sprayer was broken right out of the box. He took it back and they charged him 20% restocking fee even as a broken tool. He call their customer service all they said that's our policy. Found out later one of his friends was a HF employee at one time, my son said it's not uncommon that the store repacks and places it back on the floor.

How can they restock it? Shouldn't be a restocking fee for something that's broken and unusable...I'd call again, eff that.

Fantastic dust collector. Terrible "filter" bag. Spend some bucks on a canister filter and you've got an amazing setup.

I'd like to see HF sell a rubber insert for the floor jacks. I cut a circle out of 3/4" plywood so I have something but rubber/plastic would be better.

Thanks. Personally I tend to avoid all drillmaster and warrior line tools, IMO those two lines are built to break, I have a 10 year old chicago electric recip that was only a little more that I have beat to heck and it keeps on going. The Bauer cordless line I have been very happy with, and have got a number of tools when they were on sale. I just got the 7 1/4 circ saw free when I bought a 3Ah battery for $59. What other cordless brand worth a salt has those kind of deals?

A few good deals....not sure how that version of the dust collector works, with a plastic lower bag. I have a 20 year old version of it that has cloth upper and lower bags....change the lower bag before its half full or you'll need help carrying it LOL. These dust collectors work great though and you can't beat the price. Even the small portable version works great. My grandfather and I both bought one of those large dust collectors....one was put together, the other is still in the box because the shop was never really finished....highly doubt the one in the box is any good anymore as its sat out on the carport in the box all these years. I've been thinking of getting one of the Hercules 12" dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saws....for twice the price that my old Chicago Electric one was, I'd hope its even better LOL....I have no real complaints about the Chicago Electric one though, its served me well. HF has some good stuff now, compared to a decade or more ago....the Bauer and Hercules lines, Quinn, and Icon have really pushed quality up at HF....I know some stuff was hit and miss, but I have to say I've got a lot of Central Pneumatic air tools, Chicago Electric power tools, and Central Machinery tools and all of them have worked great....although it is time to upgrade after 20-30 years LOL. My grandfather passed away recently, and my family has decided they're taking all of grandpa's wood working tools LOL....well fine, it just gives me a reason to upgrade....however, the only thing I'll really miss is the old Ridgid TS3612 table saw...its been a great table saw for the past 25 years. Numerous blades and a belt are all I've replaced on it. Unfortunately the current contractor table saw isn't 220V compatible....Ridgid has really fallen in that area of keeping up with other manufacturers as of late....so I'm looking at possibly replacing that old table saw with a Sawstop contractor saw as you can convert it to 220V, like the old Ridgid table saw. The Bauer line and lower have shorter warranty period...Hercules has 5 year warranties on their tools, and 3 year warranties on their batteries. Something to keep in mind if you are cost comparison shopping the 2....the warranties are gonna be the deal maker in many cases.....I think most if not all their hand tools are lifetime warranty. I can't complain about the numerous Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Pro wrenches, ratchets, and sockets I've purchased over the years. The 2 pressure washers you were mentioning the 300PSI difference isn't really noticeable in many cases...where you will find it to be an issue is if you use or try to use a rotary concrete/floor cleaning attachment...the higher PSI will be needed for that attachment to work properly.

Some HF stuff is pretty good and some is pretty bad. Buy carefully. Their low end air tools are junk, same with some electric tools. Only place I could find real power cord for my little welder. Great selection of abrasives and death wheels for angle grinders.
