The sad thing about UMvC3 is that as broken as X-factor is, it's probably the only thing that gives you a chance in situations like this because the rest of the game is so broken. Imagine trying to deal with this gonzo bullshit without it. Some characters are just too strong even without their own X-factor.

X-Factor isn't a problem in UMvC3, least not a big one. I love UMvC3 but it's 1 button, 1 frame startup throw game is the worse thing in it, next to the whole TAC mechanic. Tatsunoko vs Capcom had Cross-Over Air Raid (which was QCF+P) as a way of switching during the middle of an air combo, it was so much better because it cost 1 bar. So you either hard tag (0 bars used), DHC (2 bars used) or AR (1 bar used) to switch, so switch P for Assist1 or Assist2 if MvC4 is another 3v3 game. Overall a Capcom or MvC4 done with TvC mechanics would be a good way forward as Baroque (if made to take a set amount of life away like Haggar's Lariat does) is a better combo canceler/extender than X-Factor, Mega Crash tweaked a bit (as 2 bars plus a chunk of health always felt steep), Cross-Over Air Raid and Cross-Over Counter (think V-Reversal but you need a partner and costs 1 bar) are better mechanics. Tatsunoko vs Capcom really wasn't given a fair ride, being on a weak console with poor online (it needed a bloody adapter for wired internet).

The best part is, you can't really get mad because the combos are absolutely beautiful. They're so asthetically pleasing, all the salt leaves your body and you just sit there, happily knowing you got bodied, but you got to see a sick combo

You know, I feel like X Factor would be a really cool mechanic if they kept it mostly the same but only gave you the basic level 1 and it never went up. Like you just get one time, per game, to extend a combo or perform an advanced block string or make a move safe, get a punish, or whatever, but it didn't make comebacks hilariously in your favor. Use it kinda like an FADC in a way.

One other thing: I think X-Factor could work if you chose a type of factor pre-fight. Like, you choose life up, speed up OR damage up, not all three. Maybe take out the no chip damage part, too.

I would love to see an MVC4, but if it's going to have X-Factor, I'd rather have it be an optional setting and not be mandatory. I 100% agree on X factor. You had game 5, and he got X-factor off, one combo per dude and they die from full to half health? It's as you said in another MVC3 video, it's literally a cheat code and is hugely unfun from any perspective. It isn't even gratifying to WIN with it.

I don't want a MvC4 if its made just to be a cash grab, especially looking at how Marvel is greedy as of late. It needs quite the time to be made. Honestly I just want MvC2 to come back online again. I feel like CvS is more deserving of a new entry than Marvel, 3 ends it quite nicely. Unless we get a legitimate story with more character interaction in MvC4, I'd gladly take that. MvC4 shouldn't *just* be a fighting game.

But everymatch there was always 2 of any of these combination of people; Doom, Magneto, Sentinel, Dante, and uh... 5 Volt Exactly. You're not going to hop into the game and learn how to do Morrigan infinites or optimize your combos. There's so much that goes into it, but all people see is the combos and completely ignore the setups, team creation, and level of execution needed for said combos. Let's not forget that the level of people who do play this game fluctuates wildly, not everyone is going to be wavedashing or plinking with Magneto like the high lord Max faced in this video, this stuff is legitimately difficult to do.
