My daughter used to do her reading lessons by hanging off the front of the couch in a plank position. One time I was recording her reading and she fell on her face and busted up laughing! It was an adorable keepsake. 😂 Morning Time is busy at our house too. Much different than in my Kindergarten classroom back in the day.❤

Our morning time is Bible and read aloud, then our loop subjects that are for both kids. So history, science, geography, art study on a loop. We do it right before lunch. And I have them play with stuff with their hands-legos, magna tiles, brain flakes, kinetic sand, etc. my kids love morning basket.

Thank so much for this video. A confirmation that I am doing better than I thought 😢 I have struggled so much with morning time. I also have 3 boys, all 3 years apart and they bust with energy. We started play first thing before breakfast and it has helped. Great tips on manipulatives this is a struggle for me. I love all your suggestions. Your videos are so helpful and up lifting.

Oh gosh. I've been much behind on listening to you, because your microphone is noticeable at least 9 months ago!! 🤣 One fun thing we do to begin circle time, is that I play the shofar on KZbin to call them in. They know to come in without me calling and calling, and that its time to be quiet and pay attention. I didnt do this with my now 21 year old, I wish I did. When we have a Sabbath-rhyrhm week (or a month off, between terms), we still keep up circle time, and I change that up to playing somwthing weird and fun in the mornings (our last break, in April, was the dance mix "They've Taken The Hobbits to Isengard," for example). I try to find something my 1-11year old children love and is appropriate, and we only do it for the shorter span, to keep it fresh. I love your reminder to seek connection over control, but in your own sweet words!

What a wonderful way to call them in! We also keep our morning time during breaks. Just to continue family devotions, scripture memorization, and hymn singing.
