For anyone that’s a student nurse or taking pre reqs for nursing school apply for PCT/CNA jobs! Right now I work as a PCT in the CVICU next month I’ll be a nurse extern THIS LOOKS AMAZING on an application my manager knows I’ll be graduating soon and has already offered me a job If you’re in nursing school, apply as a nurse extern or tech you’re more than likely going to get the job before anyone else when it comes down to you graduating/ you already worked there!

I tell everyone if your interview feels more like a police interrogation, you may not "fit in", so don't be disappointed if you don't get the job. A good interview should feel more like a natural conversation between yourself and the interviewer!

Hey thank you for the in depth, well-articulated video. I’m working on passing my nclex but a goal of mine is becoming a CRNA. I’ve always been intimidated by the icu however that excites me to do it even more. I don’t have a lot of experience in healthcare aside from my clinical experiences. Here are a few questions that I have. Do you have any recommendations on gaining information specific to the icu? What positions would you go for before even applying for the icu? Did you feel comfortable after orientation and if not how long did it take you before you were? Thank you for your time.

I sought out ICU CNA experience as a nursing student but I realized that it wasn't a right fit, so here I am applying for new graduate job on other ICUs. I feel silly doing it because the goal of working in the ICU as a tech was to transition easily into the unit. Thanks for this video btw. It's so packed with great content!
@jonathanasigri9487 Жыл бұрын
I'm confused. U wanted to work in the ICU as a tech to get early experience and ended up not doing it but u eventually came back to square 1 except now as an RN?
@sgmooijRN Жыл бұрын
@@jonathanasigri9487 the current ICU I’m working in is not a great fit for me for several reasons. You know that there are many different kinds of ICUs right? idk what’s confusing about that. As a nursing student, you can work as a CNA in any unit, then as you are graduating, you can do your capstone in the ICU and eventually turn in your applications as an RN.

Hey, quick question if you were given the option between working at a level one trauma hospital that comes with a commitment of working there two years after residency, or would you pick the level two trauma with no commitment attached? I don’t want to waste any additional time, but I would also love that experience of working at a Level one center
@theCRNADrip4 жыл бұрын
+Shaquilla Paige sooooo, I will st that I had the same “obligation” at my first hospital at a level one. And if I left I would have to pay back 5000 dollars, I left at 1 year and 4 months and never heard anything of it. And there were other people I know before me who left before the 3 years and nothing. So I would say go for the level one with the intentions of staying until you get into school and then leave if need be. I don’t think they can really charge you for quitting lol.. but that place could be different? Just make sure you read everything through but def go for level one

Patrick Thomas okay yes it is. I thought I applied during school as a senior, but then thought I could get called before NCLEX....because our school has a paper processing 30-60 days after graduating. So during that time I would study for NCLEX... so I didn’t wanna get called without it lol

Yes, ICU jobs in general are competitive, ER, and anything in maternal child health. Those are the highly desirable areas for nurses in general, especially new grads!
