I have had my roomba since 2005. I can’t live without it! It does an awesome job. I have replaced the battery 3 times and the brushes. I call it Robbie! I came home today after it had been running and I was so pleased, I yelled, “Way to go Robbie,”

@kestrelpounces9 ай бұрын
If it does happen to be your charger- our charger died too. But I think most models still have a round charging socket (ours is on the side, between the right wheel and the dust bin). If so, you may be able to unplug the cable from the charging unit, and just plug it directly into your Roomba. Good luck!
@TheCraftyOrganizer9 ай бұрын
If it is an older model, the batteries would die if left on the charger for extended periods. I had that happen and just picked up a new battery from amazon. (About $40) Popped it in, and it worked like new again!

Yes! I've had the first Roombas from years ago and always had to clean them once a month! Cleaning sensors with clorox wipes and air compressor guns is important! Once a year thorough maintenance is a big must! You will find more dirt! Cotton swabs to really clean inside sensors! I also check the battery and have a spare! I also use a rubber pencil eraser on the electrical charge contacts! The newer expensive models require more cleaning for the mini dirt tower! I love them! My cats use them for ubers once they get use to them! It's similar to me getting use to seeing the new driverless cars! I'm still scared to death about those!!!!!

Thank you for these great tips- I will definitely be using canned air for my next deep clean! Dust is NOT kind to computer circuit boards!! We clean brushes and filter with every use, and twice a year try to capture the (giant!) internal dust bunnies by gently twirling a damp Q-tip in the crevices in the chassis. Our Roomba is 11 years old and still going strong! Luckily our side-beater became curved only at the nylon bristles, and a quick dip in near-boiling water softened them enough to straighten. Fun fact: Dollar Tree vinyl sticks pretty well to the chassis with minimal maintenance, much cheaper than a commercial decorative skin. We gave our mopping robot her own new skin to match our favorite Battlebot (Tantrum🧡)- it’s very cute to have a mini Battlebot mopping the floor! Our Roomba is next, but then I’m pretty sure my family will try to get them to fight… 🤷♀️🩵

Our Roomba has different rollers, smoother, not brushes. There are a few other minor differences, maybe mine’s a newer model? And you’re so right - the wheel is hard to remove. My husband has done it since I can’t, so I really appreciate the double screwdriver tip! I turn Rob upside down on a table to clean/check every few uses since I’d rather deal with a small job more frequently than a bigger one less often. It’s only taken about 70 years to figure that out. There are a couple maintenance/problem solving videos on the Roomba Rob youtube channel too. Not instead of yours! And my husband named Rob, don’t blame me.)
