Great video, I love Kuala Lumpur. I came here for a visa run from Thailand and ended up staying quite a while, I'm making vlogs here too. It's funny that guy said it's like Berlin. I lived there for 2 years and to me they are total opposites (KL = very wholesome, predominantly muslim and Berlin = wild, eccentric, sex positive culture). Nice to see another interview from you in Malaysia!

To the brit gal, I hope she departs Malaysia on a good note. She should try googling of the place before visiting, not knowing Bukit Bintang is like going to London and not heard of Oxford street. Not clear what actually happened to her, Malaysian men don't really gawk at foreign women. Maybe they're not local, there's more than 3 million foreign workers in Malaysia.

The brit girl probably just got back from Pai, Thailand. Where she is still high. The way she crossed arm is an indicator of anxiety. Interviewer is calm and relaxed. England is not doing so well now. Can relate the escape. Also visa run, maxed out their stay in Pai, Thailand. We have our own identity and that is Malaysia. We are not the same as Thailand or Singapore and we don't want to. Rowdy Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket.

Thankyou for your videos…I’ll be in KL and Penang in August. I was first there in 1978 and 1985 backpacking. Last October I was in Georgetown for a few hours off a cruise ship. Im travelling solo, but only for 12 days from Perth Western Australia. I can’t wait to return! KL has changed SO much since 1985. Im looking forward to my 4 star hotels this trip, and definitely not carrying my luggage on my back! Malaysia was so easy and free and safe way back then when I was 25. Love your videos and questions. Warmest regards from Western Australia 🦘🇦🇺

As a chinese american, I highly recommend you visit the residential town in KL to see how chinese malaysian live. One of the best places to experience is Kota Damansara, which is about 15 km from KL city. It has a few hundred restaurants, mainly chinese cuisine, in the shop lots. To be honest, that's the place where you can experience the real local life outside the CBD, and there are three main shopping malls nearly, one of which is OneUtama- one of the largest in Asia, basically people who live there do not need to travel outside the area.

It sounds like they need to create some overhead walkovers there in KL to enable ease of crossing. Too right that Bangkok has improved on that over the years plus, of course transportation big time. Wow, the Brit and the bad experience. Pity there likely wasn't a chance to report the person and have them charged. l Feel sad for her. A top assortment of interviews champ. Well done Chai 🤩

Overhead bridges are where homeless people live (I am not trying to hide the truth). Mainly at chinatown area. To solicit for money. Better to be on the street where there are more people. Malaysia likes to take in refugees and migrants. Like Europe. This is the mess unhcr created here to be honest

Hi Champ,welcome back to Kuala Lumpur. On the subject, Kuala Lumpur and the rest of Malaysia are generally a very safe place. Just be aware of the foreign immigrants that are causing a lot of these irritations. The locals in general, are very respectful of others and are friendly to tourists. Just be mindful which part of the city you are in when in Kuala Lumpur. Just like any other country in the world, there are places to avoid and places which are recommended!😅😊

I would also encourage people to visit Penang, I find it fascinating, its culture and food, and there are indeed a few beautiful sandy beaches, but the beaches cannot be the reason to travel to Penang, as the sea water is very murky, polluted and full of jellyfish. Langkawi is already much better, but Perhentian and all the other islands along the east coast of Malaysia are far more beautiful, if you are looking for world class sandy beaches, diving and snorkeling.

The German guy you interviewed by the River of Life is really nice, stayed positive about Malaysia. The one after that you interviewed at Merdeka Square, the one that said he felt the vibe of Berlin in KL, the one that said Malaysia is wealthier than Indonesia, obviously didn't realize, didn't know that Indonesia is the only Southeast Asian country in G20, with the highest GDP around USD1.5 trillion, of course with a population of hundreds of millions, the median for GDP income per capita in Indonesia is still in the status of a developing country like all the countries in this region with exception to Brunei and Singapore (one of the highest GDP income per capita in the world).
@sandrest8773
@sandrest8773 6 ай бұрын
Are you saying Indonesia is wealthier than Malaysia? There are reason why people use GDP per capita as main indicator, for 270 milions of people,GDP around USD1.5 trillions is low compare to Malaysia 30 millions of people GDP around USD 400 billions.

Certain parts of KL is where the undocumented and illigal immigrant live. They sometimes harass tourists. Asking money, harassing women when they get drunk. My advice to women travellers coming to KL, if you experience any of this bad incident, please report to police station. Your report will help us to keep KL safe. Police will patrol these area often if they knew about this.

As for the pedestrian friendly thing, I notice that most countries in South East Asia are not pedestrian friendly unlike some western countries. I'll say every country has their pros and cons, some more than others. But Malaysia is far more on the pro's side of things than the cons. I do feel for my fellow British lady in what happened to her which was actually a surprise and I hope it didn't spoil her stay in Malaysia. Having said that, it does seem to me that she did very little research on Malaysia. If she was bothered about partying and going to clubs, then Thailand would have been better for her. As for saying there isn't much to do in KL, that is also wrong - there are a lot of things to see and do. Personally she should have skipped Malaysia and just go straight to Thailand. I have just come back from my 7th visit to Malaysia and 4th visit to Indonesia, and I'm planning to go to Malaysia again next year - I can't get enough of Malaysia

the female tourist need to do a police report of that incidents. this kind of people will tarnish Malaysian name. now Malaysia have to many immigrants that comming illegal to Malaysia where there are from Bangladesh, Nepalese, Indonesia and others. if she make a police report. Malaysia police can do investigation at the area where the incidence happened or maybe Malaysian police can capture the culprit and also Malaysia people dont want bad things happen to the tourist comming to Malaysia. as we know the incident happens like india where the female tourists is rape by 7 guys where she and his husband get beaten also. if this happens in Malaysia this is gonna ruin Malaysia tourism and Malaysia name in the world.

What struggles? Why is a video on struggles in Malaysia, isn't there any struggle in other countries that you've visited, weird. Anyway, Chai, welcome back to KL. Do you notice the pattern of your KL compared to the other countries. You focused on negative questions compared to more general questions when you were in other countries. Well, I could be mistaken.

Ey Yasin, what’s happening? Thanks. Ow yes indeed sometimes do focus on the lesser parts so people who come over know what to expect. Basically with this video I show that there are not so many struggles as a traveler in Malaysia and hope this way to drag more tourists to the great country 🙏 how negative it seems like I always try to have a positive impact on the tourist industry in South East Asia

Why do all those people try to tell her how bad it is in London. That doesn't matter, if she has a bad experience - just a reason less to come to SE-Asia, so you should try to stop it, instead of victim blaming or mansplaining.

It sounds to me like you are condoning the perverted act that was perpetrated against her to make her feel that way in the first place. Why wouldn't she therefore not feel safe notwithstanding it is likely an isolated case? As for the rest of your comment, well that is outright disgusting and paints you in as bad a light as the perpetrator of the mentioned revolting act.
