I have been visiting Malaysia on and off for the past 35 years and have seen massive change. Beautiful country, lovely people and great cuisine. However, I have never been north across the border to Thailand. I never felt the need. I advise anyone who wish to retire to Western Malaysia (capital Kuala Lumpur) to check out the alternative retirement options in either Sabah or Sarawak (East Malaysia). You will find these alternatives financially more favourable than West Malaysia. The good thing about this option is this major fact. Once you receive your Sabah or Sarawak retirement visa it is also VALID for West Malaysia allowing you to live there if you choose to do so. However, to retain the visa, you will need to prove you have also spent a certain amount of days in a year within the state issuing the visa. So, for those of you who do not have hundreds of thousands sitting in some bank account this could be your dream ticket. Best of luck.

The main problem with Thailand is that English is not widely spoken. Although the younger generation can speak and understand basic English, most of the people speaks Thai. The signboards, street names, train stations are in the Thai language which makes it difficult at time to pronounce or remember the names. Malaysia on the other hand uses English and the Malay language are written in English alphabets which makes it easier to pronounce and remember.

We say Thailand for food is much much better than Malay without a doubt. This is because of the balance between good and bad nutritions in the meal. Thai definitely oozes with fresh herbs, spices and salads that keep fat food alternatives at bay while Malay cuisine is hearty whether from Chinese or Indian influences. However, unfortunately for those who love fresh greens then the type in this sort of meal choices available is a lot less in Malay. The Thai eat their fresh herbs and spices like sweet and mad about their leafy greens, cut salad as well as vegetables as their main meal because of the chili dipping in the food culture - which is basically similar to the Greek with their hummus but with hundreds more in healthy options. Most Thai households generally will always have a few kind of chilli dips, sauces or dressing and veggies ready even as snacks. We have seen Thai girls eat their humongous somtum varieties of the raw papaya salad, un ripen green mango salad, cucumber salads, beansprout salad, pomelos salad, green bananas flower salad, water lilies petals salad…. & so on of whatever plants and leafy green they have growing in the regions.po00 = Actually they will turn anything into salad with fresh herbs and spices five times a day like there is no tomorrow. We are baffled with their non stop picking eaters habits at any opportunity given even during working office hours where we work-That is crazy admirable and now we understood why could a small Thai girls eat so much without getting fat. 😜 😂❤😊

Thai food are good but can't beat Malaysian food, definitely more diverse.
@BeekicchinDaidocoro8 күн бұрын
@@PeterVernon-d1k Nahh = doubting that. World’s kitchen like having a back office is famously renowned under the Thai nation for many reasons and the humongous diversity culinary wise in Thailand is the main part of this matter. Malaysia food is good and in fact it is underrated when compared to the long food historical establishing Thai. Though, options wise-Even considering it within this recent decades alone ~ the standing evident between food choices, varieties and availability where many Malaysian as well as the Singaporean themselves would come to Thailand for food shops, dining experiences or food holidays is still overwhelming the southern part of Thailand till date and = possibly could clarified this fact. Counting on the statistics Malaysian may be the second largest group of visitors to Thailand after The Chinese. When you live, work and stay in this regions of the Southeast Asia long enough sometimes you no longer need data analysis 🧐- Witnessing it in front of your own eyes is definitely intriguing. The bare basics of food culture diversity and culinarily availability in the most remotes part from the small northern hill tribes villages to the southern hideouts tropical forests communities would still have their own late night markets and eateries places shown that the Thai are indeed the easiest eating culture with great taste+high quality options compared to many nations that we have been to. In contrast to when we were in Penang which is also a tourist density part of Malaysia. We are not talking about more expensive pricing here but the lack off in food options, quality & culinary on offered and limited availability & times. For the personal services experienced in food sector -Malaysia is not yet on par to Thailand in many common standards, but this could be a cultural thing. For health and hygiene it is more or less the same depending on where you are. Lets say - our love for Japanese food is more than what we have going for the Thai - but eating it every day while living in Thailand is actually more convenient with great services at any time on a daily basis than when we were living in Japan🤭👍😁 In our opinion we shoutout and bound down to the Thai for their all rounded food perspective and innovative aspersions. = Ritually to the point that we now started eating their Thai fusion-sushi made with their local products which had been very well executed. To us Thailand seems to provide everything that Malaysia have in food culture in authenticity or new cross fusion but a lot more in creativity culinary renaissances and wider expediting cuisine from around the world. So when you say Malaysia cuisine is more diversified-but in what senses?

Thanks for pointing out the issues in Thailand. It's true, Thailand has its problems with crime and the environment. But remember, no country is perfect, including Malaysia. Malaysia also has its problems. Politically, it's seen a lot of changes and some corruption. kzbin.info/www/bejne/apncgoWsZpuda7c “The legacy of Malaysia’s 1MDB scandal on politics and corruption-fighting” Economically, its reliance on oil means it can be hit hard by changes in oil prices. It also struggles with deforestation and pollution, which harms its beautiful natural surroundings and affects people's health. On the social front, Malaysia has issues too, especially regarding the rights of LGBTQ+ people and strict laws in some areas. Like Thailand, it also deals with human trafficking and problems in workplaces, especially where migrant workers are involved. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH6mnWOEoLZph8k “Transgender, Muslim and banned in Malaysia | Unreported World” I chose not to include all these detailed issues in the video to keep it focused and manageable in length, especially since it was aimed at audiences interested in retirement and holiday perspectives. Bottom line is, if you want to live in a country where Shariah sits alongside government law, then Malaysia is for you, not for me thanks, I'll stick with the Buddhists.

@@sontoloyo-zo9er The Prophet brought Rule of Law into a lawless society, whether Muslims or non Muslims. The shariah laws bring certainty and not subject to whims and fancies of kings and rulers. Foreigners coming to Malaysia can be assured of the supremacy of Rule of Law. The family laws encoded in the Malaysian shariah laws are not for nons. But the takzir laws, encoded in the civil laws, including the penal code, will be applied equally to Muslims and non Muslims.

Thailand for a relaxed islam free life. Malaysia for land ownership. Pity Malaysia isn't free from islam.

You can tell the difference just at the airports. KL airport is dirty and boring with awful food. South Thailand has the same mix cuisines, much much better in my opinion. Thailand is also cleaner and much more FREE in every way especially since cannabis was legalised 2 years ago.

2023 tourist index to malaysia is 26 millions compared to thailand 24 millions and getting better in 2024.. thailand tourist gdp country vs malaysia partlial tourist gdp country 😂😂😂.

Tourist numbers from 2023 might not show the usual trends since that was when many places were just opening up after COVID-19. To really compare, we should look at the numbers from before COVID or wait a bit longer to see how things settle. Context matters.
