Also what size reel should I buy for my boys new ugly stik gx2 to get going?

Had a good few fish on the storm gt minnows and and obviously the tackle house feed shallow. Interesting I’ve also done well on the axia assure which is a knock off of the asturie but literally half the price and the cheap 45 silver jig when the bait fish are in and your after distance on the surf beaches. Surprised you didn’t include the tackle house feed shallow or ima Susuke in the list! Good video mate hopefully 2022 in a better year for everyone.

Yes mate the Sasuke and Feed Shallow never seemed to cut it this year, though previous years they've been amazing. Just seem to stick with what had been working thanks for the input 🐟🎣👍

Enjoy these videos and lures,,can't afford alot of them all the time as I fish low water gower marks and they are hard areas to fish without losing lures but good spots to fish lol..like throwing £20 into the sea at times lol

The soft plastics I'm gonna try reeling in a medium retrieve while twitching rod and then pausing- repeat. Did this during season just gone half orange - half makerel toby. Nailed the bass. . Great video as always.

Hi Keith, thanks for sharing your lure selection. The top lure for me, the Patch 125 500g flash plate, with a teaser in front, seems to get them going if it's a bit slow. Could you let me know what size Pirate teaser size you use 12cm or 15cm? Many thanks.
@bassmasterseliteuk33263 жыл бұрын
Hey Graham, yes get the 15cm in Chart if you can a definite winner mate. All the best ;)

Great guide. I’m new to lure fishing, and this top 20 is a great help in understanding what lure to use when (calm or rough water etc). With your experience however, could you do a guide on when it’s best to use certain lures based on its colours/patterns/reflection and rattle/non rattle? I pick up a bit of info from videos and the lure makers, and I understand people say colour is an individual choice, but I get snippets of info from vids that colour choice can be key. Any info would be great. Thanks Dave (Fishing Solent and Dorset area is that helps).

Thanks for sharing this lovely video. As usual a lot of good information. Well, my best lures for this year were the Fiiish Blqack minnow 2 (everyday I'm gettin better working this lure), the Whiplash Factory Sittin Wire no. 5 and the Xorus Frosty. Happy new year and great catches.

Hey Keith, thanks for the upload. Ive ordered a few Teasers but what do you reckon is a good hook size? Also I was going to try solder wire as a quick belly weight, no doubt others already did so, does that work?
@bassmasterseliteuk33263 жыл бұрын
Mate, iv used solder before works ok. As for weighted hooks if you can get Eagle Claw 5/0 or Berkley they should be fine, hope that helps 🐟🎣😉

Love the Pirate Teasers, I fish them right through the kelp and have only lost one. His squids, hard and soft are the business too, great casting distance comes in handy. I don't know how you find the time to try all these lures Keith, I can't tear myself away from my favourites that I know will do the business if the fish are there. I experiment with lures more in the daylight, but my night sessions are too short for that. I saw Henry Gilbey had stops on his hook bend, to stop the lure body sliding round (as you do), but isn't that what we want to happen when a fish hits? I see you grease the hook to help it slide and open up the hook gape- surely the stop prevents this? I can't say the lure sliding round the bend is a problem for me, unless you're pulling out of weed etc. I can honestly say that, bar nips, I get a 100% hook up and no lost fish on weedless soft plastics with a 6/0 or 7/0 hook. Have a great 2022 Mate, seems a long way off right now though 🙁

@@barlow2976 Great choice mate. Your right about the hook stop I actually haven't had any success with them yet to really judge them, I stick with the weighted owner hooks but can't get them lol. As for the lures I generally stick to the same ones that I know work like you. Thanks for commenting tight lines :)

@@bassmasterseliteuk3326 A bloke on eBay does quality spinlock hooks at a sensible price, 6/0 with three weight options. I got some 7/0 for my big squids (believe me, they're big) on AliEX and can't fault those either, specially as Owner 7/0 were ane eye-watering £7 EACH!!
