Fun fact: When they asked Tyler to write a song for Suicide Squad, they asked him to write a song about guns and Tyler said no and that he would write his own song, they could decide whether they still wanted it. They ended up using it anyways which is pretty cool

Fun fact: Since Tyler wrote Heathens himself, it connects to all of his songs AND the story. I heard that Heathens music video somewhat takes place before Heavydirtysoul which kinda makes sense. If you watch the mv closely, it represents the color yellow (Trench) all over the place. Especially right at the end where Tyler's suit changed from yellow back to orange (mix of red and yellow) informing that he's not fully in either side (Blurryface/Trench). *Correct me if I'm wrong y'all.*

YES! So glad you've started on these! Some background for you: Mutemath opened for them on the first leg of their Blurryface tour. Tyler and Josh were initially fans growing up. Paul Meaney from Mutemath helped produce Trench. Other than that, based on your reaction, I truly believe that you are going to love the upcoming tracks even more. Fun fact: both Tyler and Josh said they were hella nervous and a bit intimidated doing this. They really don’t collaborate with other artists, except when they bring out their opening bands for a couple of cover songs during their concerts, so this was new territory for them. Tyler must have felt really comfortable with Paul Meany during this, because he invited Paul to assist him with production for Trench.

Paul Meany is the lead singer, song writer, keyboardist and currently the only remaining member of MuteMath. There are a handful of amazing MuteMath songs I love and heard only because of their collab together in these sessions. Tyler brought Paul Meany in to help on a couple Trench tracks. Once you know MuteMath you’ll hear his influence on Trench. These sessions were produced by Paul Meany I believe. Super talented guy. For some more back story.. Tyler was a fan of theirs many many years ago and MuteMath ended up opening for TOP back on the Emotional Road Show/Blurryface tour. I was lucky enough to be at one of those shows. I wish I knew back then to pay more attn when they were on stage. Good stuff.

Then I went to my subscriptions and lo and behold there was a new one right at the top of the page. Great video, I've always loved the Mute Math sessions and hoped you would get to them eventually. Once you've listened to their music, you will be able to recognise their influence in this set. Definitely check them out. @@TheThirdErnest Okay, so: Daughter (UK band, their lyrics are really good), Apparat (German band if I'm not mistaken, "Head up" and "Arcadia" are very good production wise and I know you enjoy EDM), my girl Sasha Sloan (after that NF feature, it would be a shame not to listen to a few of her tracks), MISSIO (from Austin, TX, "I see you" even has an acoustic version on KZbin that's amazing), Hurts (Australian band, the guys are ah-ma-zing), The XX (UK band, indie, I am dying for a new album release) and last, but not least, Zack Hemsey (American composer, lyrics, production, EVERYTHING, "So Silent" is a masterpiece). MM is a Christian band who were popular in the late 90s early aughts...you not knowing who they are isn’t that surprising. They are pretty cool though; kinda experimental/electronic. Their studio produced music is alright, but their live shows were always 🔥 Their drummer, Darren is cuh-razy good. He used to gaff tape his headphones to his head bc he was always hyped. When I saw they did this colab it made sense bc even though Tyler and Paul (MM lead vocal) have different tones, their voices are really complimentary. Also, it is a fill. And sorry for the long ass comment.
