I love you didn't compare Avi to Matt... You just point out how the contribute to the whole PTXperience. It's been a while since Matt earned his place but still I feel many people sees him as "the new". I'm not gonna lie, I became a pentaholic because of Avi, I love his voice, but stay a pentaholic because of the amazing, talented people that gives me chills Everytime I listen to their music. I agree, Dreams is Matt's best had to hear it thousand times to tell whether it was a Cello or him. Thank u, ur vid is pretty cool.

Avellaneda Castruita Claro thank you! I am not a fan of videos that compare avi and Matt, they are two different people! And yes matts bass in dreams is just amazing :)

Great selections. So good to see you giving them both their due. Matt had big shoes to fill, and he's totally slaying it. Gotta love those bass boys!

Thanks for taking Matt in this video too. There are a lot of people, who say he is not really a bass singer but in my opinion he might even be a bit better than Avi. In those songs with Matt I often listen more to the bass line than in the ones with Avi.

They are both incredible singers indeed, glad you liked the video 😁

Great video!!! I wish you had included the breakdown for "Attention" where Matt does the walking bass line on the Ohs and the dissonant "What are you doing" note before the chorus...its my favorite part of the whole song!!
@Ptxlive3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Attention bass line is AMAZING. I am gonna do a video on that whole album because it’s a bass master class. I will hopefully have it up next month some time😁

This was an impossible task to only choose 10. My favorite bass lines are from Halleluiah (I feel it in my bones), Royals (Avi's bass drop is sick), Daft Punk (Avi's solo was insane), 90s Dance Medley (Matt's bass and beat boxing kept the music going), and Bohemian Rhapsody (Avi gave us the instruments we did not even know we were listening to).

Great choices! It is so difficult to choose, all the ones you mentioned were strong contenders for sure.

Matt is amazing. He's a fantastic singer. My main complaint about him though is that his range is unreliable. There are videos of him butchering the end of Hallelujah because he just doesn't have that resounding Bb1 that the song was written with. A lot of his range and power deficits are made up for artifically in their new stuff with lucky ones literally having 808 synth bass in it.
@Ptxlive3 жыл бұрын
I agree they need to sort that hallelujah ending, he needs to either go for Bb2 or change the note entirely. The bass in the new album that your referring to is potentially his vocal but heavily manipulated. But yes, they really beef up the bass in the new album, but to be fair they use a lot more production on all 5 voices in the album, particularly Kevin’s beats.
@drewconleymusic3 жыл бұрын
@@Ptxlive This Eb1 that is in the lucky ones is absolutely a synth 808 bass. I did also see in coffee in bed there's one particular fill that Kevin does which is probably studio magic because it doesn't sound possible.
@Ptxlive3 жыл бұрын
@@drewconleymusic it’s certainly synthetic, but I do think that there justification is that everything on the album starts with their voices. But either way, I love it 😀
@drewconleymusic3 жыл бұрын
@@Ptxlive I might also add that in be my eyes there is blatantly an octave shift on Matt's voice in the choruses because not only can he not hit the notes but they don't even try to hide the fact that it's completely artificial, it doesn't sound human.
@Ptxlive3 жыл бұрын
@@drewconleymusic absolutely, there are lots of low first octave notes in the album that no one could hit. Are you a fan of the sound on the new album or not?
