So I have a 06 trailblazer . The oil pressure gauge kept moving up and down then all of a sudden my engine started knocking and smoke was coming out the oil cap.. so it’s safe to say my engine is damaged correct?

Oil consumption without a leak, and cat goes bad? The oil is going out the exhaust. Verify by looking at the spark plugs. Can be caused by worn piston rings, worn valve stem seals, broken head gasket, etc., essentially anything that allows oil to find its way into the combustion chamber.

Umm. Just saying but to bmw burning a quart every 800 to 1000 miles is acceptable for they engines to burn that much so keep that in mind bro and if anything and ur burning to much I would say bad piston rings if u don't see any leaks and u don't see any oil in ur coolant there is a coolant passage in the oil cooler check that I had oil in my coolant when the gasket went in my oil cooler and it's a very very common problem with bmw so check it out before u jump to oil pump i just spent a whole day about 12 hours taking everything off the front of the car including suspension of the engine and dropping the sub frame and disconnecting the trans and drivetrain it's a huge job so I know because im doing it right now i was running from the cops friday night around 3 am i got caught racing with my baby mom when we both passed the cop on the highway with his lights totally off and my radar didnt go off i thought i was good until i saw headlights pop on the highway i floored it he didn't catch me of course they never do but about 5 min from home my engine started to suddenly knock hard as hell before i could even pull off on the next street i went to hit the brakes and the oil pressure light kicked on before i could even turn the car died so i evaded the cops but at the cost of my engine smh😢

I have 2003 Cadillac Seville. It makes tapping or ticking sound . Goes away after I'm stopped and accelerate .but comes back abd sknetimed goes away. Heard mught ve lifters or sonething else . Heard Northstar engines are bad . Got from Neighbor tgaf was moving who insisted no issues with car . It happened one week after buying it. Fruebd saud use slick 50 i did thihght was gone two eeeks later it's back. What is it what can i do. Mechanic said could be lots of things vety expensive to find out. Im unemployed no money used last of it to get car. What can i do to it to help fix it that's not expensive

Hello my engine when it warms up and about 30 min the engine starts to lose oil pressure slowly, but when the engine cools down I get the oil pressure back or when I accelerate in neutral gear the oil pressure comes back at high rpm. I wonder if it could be the oil pump or engine worn in the cam bearings? To give more info the engine is not leaking oil and the pressure on the cylinders is quite good

Thank you I kept getting a oil pressure sensor code. I’ve replaced three oil pressure sensors and I still keep losing oil pressure. I had someone replace a cam in my truck and then I started having this problem now because of your video that the pick up tube is clogged and is causing, low oil pressure I start out with around 36 psi and as the engine warms up, it goes to 17 153,000 miles on the truck and I had a mechanic shop told me I needed a new motor. But I have a feeling they’re lying to me because I’m a woman. I kept asking them about the oil pump. Could I just need an oil pump and they said no it needs a new motor. Can you please give me advice of what you think I should do?

Get a compression test done, that will tell you if your engine is good. Get a second opinion from a shop or mechanic you from a trusted referral.

Hydralic lifters won't get enough oil and start to ratle: engine sounds like a cold diesel engine

@petrusshivute6491 you can probably inspect it to see if it is damaged. Most of the times the oil pump failed because of metal shavings and broken guides that are sucked up from the oil pan and gets pumped to your bearings. It could be that the oil puck up is clogged which means you are very very lucky.

Lower RPM when you stop, likely a clogged screen restricting oil flow.

Loosen an oil line to the turbo and start the engine, oil should start squirting out. Take the valve cover off and start the engine, oil pressure will cause oil to spray.

Guys I need help I have a 2010 vw polo 1.2 petrol (CGPB engine) 110k miles I have replaced the engine with a new one (80k miles) the engine runs perfect when it is started but as soon as I rev the car at idle about 2000rpm above the low oil pressure light comes on I have checked the oil pressure and it’s at optimal pressure i have done a oil change with a new filter too. I am due to change the oil pressure sensor as it is common they become faulty there is no engine knocking or anything. What could be the reason ?
