@@dragospahontu A little bit because of turbo, there is a tiny bit of oil in the exhaust. 1l/2000 km. I might swap the turbo in the future, so it does not bother me. EA113 engine is much less likely to burn oil than EA888 which you can find in mk2 after the lifting, it has faulty piston rings.

Just got a silver combi with 185.000km. Did a complete engine cleaning wit new cylinders. Made the pistons brand new again, new Ultersport end-pipe. Pioneer DAB+ CarPlay and Android. Installed Led everywhere and a rearview cam combined in the plate light. It looks amazing and next weeks gets the Stage 1+ upgrade. Can’t wait. All belts, chains and clutch is new….vrooooemm

Honestly since it's a Volkswagen (VW owns Škoda) it's bound to be reliable and with a cool name like Octavia VRS you can't go wrong with it lol and from this video 200ps (ps = pferdestärke = horse power) it should be quite quick and you gotta love the screaming of the turbo

Volkswagen cars are no more that reliable, too many electronic components, high oil consumption, etc. Older vehicles like Felicia, Favorit, Octavia mk1, mk2 were the last great cars, nowadays its all about emissions, but thats a problem with whole automobile industry except for Toyotas, Hondas and Mazdas in general, they stay reliable throughout the years (engine wise)

I have FL vRS TDI 170PS (CEGA), liftback produced in 06/2012, and I love her, BUT the rust protection was absolutly wrong on all pieces of MK2 ... it was very big luck you found any without that problem ... but still I love the engine run, low fuel costs, agility for that price is great ... if I definitely solve the rust problem around the whole car, I will be the most satisfied Škoda owner ;) ...

@@dragospahontu - This generation was bad. Whether the generation was bad or not is a matter of opinion. I prefer the 2nd gen and I myself can tell you that my grandfather has 2nd gen for 16 years / 230,000km and he has never put money into the car other than the regular maintenance. I can tell you that the car is neglected (infrequent fluid changes, very short trips), however the car just goes and goes. So in terms of reliability, the 2nd gen (1.9 TDI) is not worse in any way than the 1st gen. If you speak from the perspective of chassis then it could be a different story, but I dont think that your s - I would only buy TDI. It depends on the type of driving you will do, of course its your choice, but buying diesel powered vehicle into city traffic and short trips is not very smart and yet people do it. I myself drive most of the time long trips and I only drive petrol cars, it is about your own preference, but TDI are by far not the 3 greatest letters in automotive industry. Yes, most types of 1.9 TDI were robust and well-built engines, but that doesnt mean that all TDIs are good engines. TDIs can be very problematic and the cost of the saved money on the cheaper diesel fuel is in most cases by far outweighted by the price of expensive repairs.

Mam druhý kus doma ale liftback. Lehká úprava na 176kW 380nm a nedám dopustit! Dostává vyloženě 100oktan co tam patří, olej max 10000 filtry co rok a neznám ani varovný kontrolky .top motor ale každá bere olej lehce. Teda před face Tfsi Bwa Ve facelift je už tsi ccza a ten není tak povedený, hlavně zlobí rozvody

@plexo 123 určitě pokud nebude zanedbaný od majitele. Je to nezmar .mam druhý kus lehce upravený na 176kW a jen měním olej po 10tisíc a důležitý je vždy natural 98! Nebo 100oktan . 95 tam nepatří. Nižšího výkon, karbon a odnesou to vštriky . A hlídat pistek čerpadla. Je toho plný KZbin o co se jedná. Vyměnit rozvody. Má dvoje. Klasika řemen plus na straně řidiče řetízek malý co pohání váčku. Na ten interval není ale ozve se a když volnoběh zní terče jako starý diesel tak je potřeba vyměnit. Zdravý motor zní jako šicí stroj. A hlídat spotřebu oleje. Každý bere dle jízdy ale norma je max dva litry na 10000km

@plexo 123 no co si budem. Po městě a krátký trasy je blbý. 10.11 litrů... Ale to musí být opravdu semafor k semaforu. Jinak rekord mam 7.5na dálku dle předpisů jízda. BWA je hodně citlivý na plynový pedál. Dá se vejít dlouhodobě do 9litrů ale také umí vzít i 15

The timing chain tensioner is known to fail on early Mk2 facelift models 2010-2012. They revised the design on later models. It is recommended to have it changed because the damage will likely destroy the engine if it fails. I had mine replaced when I bought the car at 125,000 miles. Shop around for a good price. I was quoted prices from £700 to £1700.
