My son has played American football since he was 5. At 18 he is 6'4" 300lbs, starting Center for a large Texas high school. My greatest joy is his big heart! While playing, if an opponent goes down, he is the first to start calling coaches on the field! I couldn't be any prouder!

This brings me back to when I was on the cross country team. The first year I joined, it didn't matter that I was the slowest runner. My team mates would cheer for me, and I felt like I had a place on the team, regardless of how fast or slow I was. The next year however, while everyone was getting higher speeds, I was still the slowest; the underdog. I felt like I needed to prove myself to them, and be fast too. One day, when we were warming up, I pushed myself too hard, and my knee buckled and I collapsed. I had torn my ACL. After a few minutes, someone came over, and helped me up. I don't know who her name was, but she was the only person who had reached out to me. I will never forget her act of kindness.😢❤️
