When I moved back to the "home" community, these gates had become "the way of the world" . . . whether because of increased thievery or just protective attitude, I don't know. When I grew up we never locked doors or trucks. Glad to see you've lost the brace--be careful about power-lifting. As usual, complete instruction packed into concise video.

Around here locks, gates and cameras are the norm. It is due to so much thievery in this area. You can only do so much to be proactive. Those good ole days you speak of seem to be behind us. Thank you for all the compliments and I am trying hard to take it easy on the knee!!

Gate opener and build looks good! It questionable that the customer wants it there (you can just drive around it in the field), I suppose like most security it just keeps honest people honest. edit: I'm going to send you some dumbbells son! looks like your done worn the other ones out!

@@Matt-uj9wl I always say that gate and locks are just for the honest people and noisy neighbors. If someone wants to get it bad enough, no gate, lock or door will stop them! Thanks for the complement on the build!

I am looking to put a gate on my property. I live on a dead end road about a mile down. No one comes down this road but still would like a gate. Unless you lived on the road you would not know there is house at the end.😀

I am way off the road myself. Unfortunately for me curious people want to come by from time to time. So a gate ended up being necessary. We manually opened and closed it for years. I must say that this gate opener makes everyday life a little easier!!

great review, I think you over explained some areas, and missed some points, but overall, well done. I've bought the system before watching the video, but my solar panels are way bigger ( 2x 100W panels ) and the batteries never gets to 100% charged, we do open our gate 9 - 15 time a day, and over weekends its used maybe 30 times. Your placement of the actuator could lead failure ( as I did mine almost like you did, and the whole reason I got to your video. and totally a Topens install guide issue not yours ) but overall. This is good, well done.

Thanks for the comment. I did mention in the video about possibly an issue with the lack of solar panels. We only open and close our gate twice per day but I still feel I will need to upgrade the panels, especially when we get into some cloudy, winter conditions. I am interested in hearing more about why you believe the actuator will fail? Did yours fail?

Please elaborate on the failure you mention.

Anyone know if Topens or Vevor is better for a dual swing gate?
@SalmonCreekLiving11 күн бұрын
I can’t speak for the dual gate but this one has performed flawlessly for me. I have been very satisfied with the Topens!
