@@98f5 Whoa whoa whoa there cowboy! Let's NOT be hasty and wish that it's Christmas EVERY DAY. Doing so would cause a ton of problems! :( You surely don't wanna act like Elmo (from Sesame Street) or Timmy Turner (from The Fairly OddParents!), right?! Simply put, you would mainly get presents every day. But there's other festive stuff too! And all this would NOT make Christmas special anymore. This really huge holiday only comes once a year for a valid reason! This is something I greatly anticipate each year, as someone who actually took Christmas to the extreme before COVID changed things really bad for me in 2020 (but there's still some hype anyway, now for my biased nostalgia). Back in the good ol' 2010s, I used to do a big light display in Winchester, Massachusetts and that was cool! Would be invited to join Christmas parties and watch Christmas theatrical productions. Drank Cinnamon Coke (just once sadly) and Hood Golden Eggnog! Made cookies. Got presents! And actually knew about the existence of Jesus Christ and his birthday. SNOW! The songs. The freaking Christmas specials for Spongebob, The Grinch, Frosty and even Spot (Eric Hill)! I miss those special times so bad.

Try the ever so popular Lynn Fells Parkway in Saugus, Massachusetts this year. If you REALLY want a super good neighborhood with Christmas lights covering every surface, going on ever since the 1950s! I've always actually wanted to move there for this reason alone, as a proud Masshole since 1999! The houses there are so pretty and it draws pretty decent crowds in December. But at least I did my own big light display somewhere else in greater Boston!! :(

Those poor people in the first one, I'd be so excited to see that house all lit up like that, it's to bad they had to live around a bunch of grinchy assholes that took all that away from people who enjoyed it. Just sad. You live in your own home and can't even put what you want when you want in your yard. So messed up.

I know what your saying....but if you can’t leave your house or get back to it...because of traffic created by the lights...that’s not right either.

Big displays by where we live don't allow outside car traffic. You have to park down the street and walk the block out of respect for the ppl who live there.... Then again, you end up with hundreds of strangers wandering your neighborhood with that plan.
@karentucker21614 жыл бұрын
They probably have homeowners association too and they are butts about how your yard and house should look. I know several people who live or had lived in neighborhoods like that. Those that had lived there moved out of there for a reason. It was almost like they couldn't even have visitors without someone complaining and it's not like they are throwing parties...they go to church and genuine chirstians.

I REMEMBER HOW MUCH JOY I GOT FROM SEEING ALL THE HOUSES LIT UP. SOME PEOPLE RISK LIFE AND LIMB ,WHICH IT'S NOT A COMPETITION, EXCEPT TO THOSE WITH COMPETITIVE STREAK'S. FOR ME, IT'S THE LIGHT'S AND THE ART THAT MAKES IT ALL COME TOGETHER AND THE JOY FOR THE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. MY DAD USE TO TAKE US OUT TO SEE ALL THE HOUSES LIT UP . @TechMasterJasonmy comment was a reference to the movie Christmas Vacation. Clark puts over 24,000 lights on his house and Cousin Eddie dropped by for a surprise visit in a junk rusty RV. You said when you lived in Massachusetts you were like Clark with your Christmas display. So I was making a joke by asking if cousin Eddie ever stopped by.

@TechMasterJason alright 👍 some people have never seen the movie and didn't know I was joking when making that comment before so that's why I was explaining it was a joke. There is a house where I live in Florida that decorates everything just like the movie including the station wagon with a enormous tree hanging off it and a junk RV with a mannequin dressed as cousin Eddie emptying the shit tank. They always show that house on the local news every year.

@TechMasterJason there are houses like that where I live. The local news station goes around showing off the most popular houses and neighborhoods and that house that is always setup as an exact duplicate of Clark Griswold's is on there multiple times each year at Christmas.

Looking out at stop & go traffic from end of block across the road heading toward the beach down 544 I saw a double semi box & trailer that seemed to hve giant 11 11 on the side, but it was optical illusion.

Can unhook charger & bungee door closed soon enough but I think we will need a new battery for sure & AC shot super noise if turned on. Blue has already had AC replaced for a grand & Greenie is 500 dollar van 02'.

Amazing how many of the American displays have been forced to shut down. Alarming, actually.

175: for about 2 weeks I hve been seeing the 3 rosters doing all the crowing midday b4 last 2 yrs we lived here. A few times walking the dead end block I hve seen the 1 hen w/them pecking & scratching on the 2nd artery drain main ditch for the street. The ditch that divides r house 908 from 910 is the main drain artery.
