The "Bird Dog Aircraft" carries the "Air Attack Officer" the person in charge of directing all aerial operations during a wildfire. The bird dog flies above the tanker aircraft and directs them where to dump water to ensure they hit the best spot. My former hubster's buddy did this job and due to the high skill ceiling, stress & ever-present danger, he worked less than 6 months a year. The rest of the time, he travelled the globe. He LOVED both his job and the high wage for the experiences it afforded him. He (thankfully) has never been inujured and is a fascinating man, with innumerable incredible true tales of both his work & his extracurricular activities. A life well-lived.

I'm sorry that you've built such high walls around yourself with toxic masculinity that you can't let yourself find any comfort. Unlike you, people have or want a safe heaven. Cuddling (therapy cuddling) can be their ataraxia. You have no right to call these people ‘pathetic’ when they are simply receiving help. I argue receiving help is becoming an adult.
