@@diavarezable call ME crazy, but I don't think we will ever really go FULLY electric, at least not in our lifetimes. Yes, standard commuter cars and daily-driver cars will likely be all electric in the relatively near future. However, due to there being such a massive and passionate following in motorsports and sports cars in general, manufacturers like Porsche or even Mazda who really care about the driving experience will never leave us behind. Even if emissions restrictions continue to get stricter, there are incredibly smart engineers (hopefully me one day😅) who will do everything they can to keep combustion engines around. Spring rate is relative to the suspension design. Previous 911s used cheaper McPherson strut front end. The few benefits of that setup, beyond manufacturing/assembly costs, is, typically, more direct steering feel and a nearly 1:1 effect of the spring on the tire, AKA the spring rate at the wheel. Double wishbone offers dynamic camber gain (keeps tire contact patch stuck to the pavement), but loses the almost 1:1 spring rate to wheel rate factor, hence the stiffer spring rates chosen. Suspension nerds will commonly talk about the "motion ratio" of the springs when building aftermarket coilover setups. All that matters is the spring rate experienced by at the wheel.

I love how Chris forgot it's not a manual car (12:55)... It makes you understand how this car stilla has that "old style, carrera fun" feeling.

Watched Henry Catchpole, Dan Prosser, Matt Farah... All great car journalists which I follow fondly. Yet.. none get close to Chris. This video is magical like many other of his. Moreso with the GT3. It's a combination made in heaven. It really moved me. I dream of someday driving any GT3.

You can rent time on a Porsche gt product. Though honestly, you really need seat time in a lot of other sports cars to really appreciate just how well put together and visceral they are. Why everything is so perfectly balanced. You need context. But if you have context... Spent the couple hundred whatever currencies. It's worth it.
@loloh913 жыл бұрын
@@lowstrife Thanks. Yea in my country there's nothing like that available. My context unfortunately is none in sports cars. So yea, got to go step by step

Chris Harris possibly the best motoring journalist of his generation and I could listen to him talking authoritatively about cars until they are all electric, after that I’d just want to go to the pub and listen to him reminisce about his days racing and driving fast well balanced cars 😎👍🏻

Chris just cracks me up when he gets into track focused Porsches. He’s like a little kid getting all giggly, lol. Eyes the size of dinner plates 👀, big a** smile on his face 😃, and his voice goes up an octave as he’s talking through each corner or describing the design of the parts and bits. Great stuff. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

Love the "reality" of this video. It retains the high quality cinematography, but I also almost feel like im there and able to share the excitement of running in the car, waking up at the crack of dawn, heading to the shoot etc.

I have a 2010 Panamera S and truly love this car. Previously, I owned a 2006 911S wich was great. But THIS car IMHO, is one of the all-time greatest 911. Yes, it is a dream car for me, although priceless. So, thanks Porsche and Chris for allowing me to vicariously live the dream for 19 minutes.
