Makes sense. Toph was supposed to have a whole other arc full of character development for herself for ATLA S4, but Nick sold the rights to the show to M. Night to make the live action movie, preventing a season 4 and Toph’s growth. That’s also why her character in Korra struggles with family issues, she never got the closure she needed and Bryke choose to work with that.

@@Hi-ky2wd yeah ngl the movie was the first thing i ever knew about atla, like i legit discovered the show afterwards, and i did find the movie nice when i watched it the first time. then again i was half asleep, and i was mostly focusing on the bending effects. the acting is actually horrible and when i actually saw clips of the movie again recently, i never wanted to reach through the screen and slap someone more than i had then. plus i've never seen a worse script with the most phony dialogue ever in my life. but yeah i guess it's... decent if it's the first thing you've seen and you aren't really paying attention.
