I think a reason why Scar didn't recruit Zira is because he wanted to remain hidden early in the war so if he got them involved it would have exposed his return.

Like I’ve kept saying I really do think that the simple yet most likely answer is that Scar NEVER gave a living 💩 about any them! I mean let’s consider several things regarding Scar’s character in the original movie. Remember that scene between him and Sarabi where he outright says to her that he’s perfectly okay with letting everyone starve to death not to mention when he blamed the hyenas for being “the real enemy” I mean who’s to say that he wouldn’t have done the EXACT same thing to Zira?! And in The Lion Guard, Scar’s ghost never even mentions Zira, Kovu and the outlander lions even once to Janja or the rest of his army. And let’s not forget his whole plan to have Kion use the Roar to burn down the pridelands therefore turning them into a much more desolate wasteland than it ever was! And if that had succeeded there’d be nothing left for anyone to rule over even a supposed “chosen heir” not to mention when he betrayed Janja and his clan to leave them to burn in the pridelands now yes you could say that’s him getting petty revenge for hyenas for killing him but even then again who’s to say that he wouldn’t have done the same to Zira and her children?!

I feel like he didn't love her that much and just wanted to use her for an heir. I headcanon Nuka as Scar and Zira's child. I feel like Scar was dissatisfied with him and didn't want anything to do with Zira after that. Then he realized Zira still loved him and used it to his advantage to brainwash her and the other Outlander lions.

Zira was probably the reserve. I think that Scar planned to use his outlander army to weaken the pridelands before sending Zira's pride in for the killing blow. During the whole conflict, we never actually see Simba's pride go into battle; I think both sides were saving their lions (ostensibly their best fighters) for the final confrontation which never came.

Kovu was the last cub born before Simba exiled the Outlanders and as Kovu and Kiara are around the same age, they may have been born around the same time as each other. So Zira would have been sent away to have Kovu and Vitani, which means she would have been expecting around the time Scar died.

I believe that either Scar was never able to track them, that they hid too well, or that he never bothered to look for them. He was a ghost, so he couldn't die, which means he didn't have to look for a successor like Kovu.

What a missed opportunity. If Zira was part of Scar's Outlander Army, they could've explained what their relationship was like, how she was during the first Lion King. And Scar could've easily influenced Kovu to turn evil, which would explain why he originally agreed to the plan when we first see him as an adult.

Zira believes lions are superior to hyenas. Since there were hyenas also Scar's army came from Janja and the hyenas to start with and then they assembled more. The main reason is she didn't know Scar's army existed and Scar didn't know where she and her pride where because the got blown away by the roar.

I would love to see your take on why Simba was SO overprotective of Kiara when he let her YOUNGER brother take on the risky responsibilities of captaining the Lion Guard. Especially since lionesses are the hunters of a pride, one would think he'd see that the future queen needed some life experience instead of being coddled even into late adolescence/early adulthood. Like, back when she was his ONLY known child, it made a bit more sense, but with the reveal that she had a little brother who was given far more free rein and trust, it makes far less sense for Simba to treat her like a fragile little princess. They're LIONS, for goodness sake. Was his big worry her attachment to Kovu and the possibility of landing under the wrong influences, or being killed by Zira? It just rubs me the wrong way. A solitary kid, fine, overprotective papa makes some sense. But it just makes him seem sexist when one thinks of how young Kion was when Simba put so much faith in him.

Considering how they changed Kiara's personality in the show from goofy and clumsy to serious and highly skilled; it makes even less sense. It also took away a lot from her character development. I always felt the show would've been better if it focused on Kiara. Having no friends her own age in the pride, she could regularly sneak out to make friends with other animals. This would lead to her, and the audience, learning about the different species and how they contribute to life in the Pridelands.

I can see a couple of things playing into this: 1. Scar does not know of the whereabouts of Zira's family because he missed her banishment. She, her cubs, and her followers could very well have lived elsewhere, or perished with him in the fire/hyena mauling. Either way, seeing as he's a manipulator who is willing to move on from the loss of his pawns, he may not even care where she is. 2. Scar's eternal spirit was summoned so he could therefore oversee the Pridelands and feel superior for all eternity. Driven mad by power and vengeance, he would probably encase the entire kingdom in lava. He's so full of himself that his plan of having a successor in Kovu probably wouldn't matter to him anymore, because it doesn't compare to he, himself having power over the Pridelands. 3. Kovu was only a cub/teen and not yet shaped in Zira and Scar's image. He was not yet made into the idealized version of Scar: Large, powerful, and cunning in combat. He would have lost his family and possibly his own life in the chaos, or he would've been taken in and raised by Simba and Nala, because they realized that Zira did not chill out and raise her children elsewhere, but has instead been brainwashing them and spying on the Pridelands because she didn't let go of her hate all this time. 4. Given Zira's history of having a lion supremacist mindset, her neighbors in the Outlands probably hated her if she and her pride ever caused trouble with them if they were to ever cross paths, so they didn't even mention Zira's whereabouts to Scar because they didn't want her and her pride lording over the other animals of Scar's Army. I can see all of these happening at the same time, and they all provide huge reasons for the events of TLG not interfering with the events of TLK 2.

I doubt he thought that zira and her lions were killed by SImba the lion and his lions. Scar knows that even though his side are willing to kill animals for their gains and just out of character he knows though that Simba and his pride wouldn't as he knows they aren't evil like him. Scar the lion literally knows this when Simba the lion had spared him and only when Scar the lion attacked him a few seconds later was Simba the lion forced to kill him.

Well, I believe the real life, straight forward answer is that The Lion Guard is a midquel to The Lion King 2, and has been confirmed canon by Disney, so they couldn't let Simba and Nala fight Zira, Nuka, Vitani and Kovu before the time-skip. But, within the universe of The Lion King, I believe Scar didn't hire Zira to be part of his army is just because Zira didn't seek him out. She didn't want to draw the attention of Kion and his Roar or any animal in the Pride Lands to her, knowing she was training Kovu in secret. That's why in "Lions of the Outlands", she was manipulating Kion to be Kovu's protector, in order to keep him safe so no harm can come to him. If Zira joined Scar's collective, Simba would've known about Scar's return ages ago and also that Zira was serious business, while Kovu was still a cub at that point. Also, I think Zira didn't choose to meddle with the animals in the Outlands because she wanted to keep a low profile in case it got the attention of Simba and Nala. The only reason I think she meddled with Jasiri's clan is because, as far as she's concerned, lions hate hyenas and wouldn't help them and she also didn't know the Lion Guard has returned at that point, so, she thought she would get away with it. Scar either knew she was alive and living in isolation, from his skinks, or else he thought maybe she died of starvation/famine or ran away. We'll never know for sure. I also think that Kion used the Roar to banish her from the Outlands, to another place entirely, or else far away from the other parts of the Outlands, and she just lived in isolation from then on to keep Kovu safe and so she could continue his training in secret. But, I think it's likely she wasn't in the Outlands after "Lions of the Outlands", because that would explain why she had to make the journey into the Pride Lands at the end of The Lion King 2. If that was the case, then, I don't imagine Scar would've known where she was.

The reason why they didn't include Zira was because the director didn't want to clash with Simba's pride. I understand why, but i kind of wish they had included the outsiders because i wanted to see Zira's reaction to seeing Scar. The lion guard is one of my favorite shows, but after how things turned out in the end, lately i don't consider it part of the original show, but as an alternate timeline. Kind of like in the halloween franchise, because they made four different timelines. And also like in the little mermaid series because in the original Ariel hadn't met Ursula since she was a baby. The final season was okay, but i would've done things differently if i were the script writer.

I am honestly wondering about scars plans. I mean, according to Zira, he wanted Kovu on the throne in his place. But Kovu isn't his child. If everything, Nuka and Vitani are his heirs (not that Nuka is smart enough lol. But still) Then Scar returns, but he is trying to destroy Pride Rock. How is Kovu able to rule if there is nothing left? The scorpion plan to kill Simba was smart. Killing the king so there is a place for Kovu. Giving Kion the scar was smart. But why destroying the pride lands? It doesn't make sense. We do know Zira likes to lie about things. Keep things hidden and chance the truth a little. Like how she told Kion that he would lose the roar if he used it against lions instead of using it for evil. Are we sure the Kovu plot isn't one of those lies?

Think about it Scar always cared only about himself fist and everyone else never and he probably never really wanted an Heir and only chose Kovu as his heir out of keeping up appearances.
