Hi Sir I have one question Many a times we are not able to complete our syllabus till test as others suggest that even if you have not studied then also give test but I don't see how it will benefit us in our preparation and help us in fixing mistakes which obviously in these tests will be due to lack of knowledge and not other factors like misreading or using wrong concepts because to apply wrong concepts first you need to know the concepts! So my question is should we attempt the tests even if we are not able to complete our syllabus for most of the tests ( 25% -30% syllabus remains incomplete mostly) or should we wait a little longer , complete the test syllabus and then attempt it? There is another related question , Considering that I am a dropper , when should I start attempting full syllabus mock tests? Some suggest that even if your syllabus is 50% complete then also start attempt full syllabus tests but I am confused that will it be actually helpful or just depressing to attempt half syllabus test with obviously low confidence. After the 12 th syllabus completion and then learn the first year concepts . I'm hoping it might help you,also it's better to refer your respective lecturer regarding this .I have said in this way bcz all cannot be perfect at a time in first year , gradually they just improves

Yes sir , I too have been experiencing the unbalanced states of overconfidence and under confidence recently because of the 'Fear of Marks ' , I always aimed at getting above 650 marks in mock tests, in the initials ones I would get but recently I could not, which caused some fear. I had this problem..I was one of the topper and those praise and appreciation from teachers made me mad..in Coron I totally left my studies and when school reopened I was just below average..everyone laughed at me becoz I was one of topper simple mistakes..teachers stopped giving me attention they started ignoring me..I was getting hurt felt like crying fully depressed.. This is what's happening with me sir. I got a rank of 12000's in jee advanced. I scored well in initial tests(75% in mains and 60% in advanced pattern tests) but recently in an test a lot of chapters came together and i crumbled under the exam pressure and could manage to get a mere 40% in mains pattern test. Yes sir, I'm Goutam Kumar and I'm dropper student of aakash institute for jee preparation. I really relate with the whole story. I'm the district topper in my 10th examination. And I'm sure confident about cracking iit jee during my 12th class. But when I give the examination and knew the score I'm upset to see that because it is unexpected. Sir mujhe khud par bahut hi jyada ghamand tha ki mere 10th aur 12th boards me 96%+ aaye hai toh mai iit delhi me cse toh le hi lunga, maine apne taiyaari 11 se start kardi aur dheere dheere chapter ke illustration book se solve karke ek pseudo confidence aa gaya ki mains toh nikal jaayega toh advanced ki taiyaari shuru kar deta hu, jab mains me 4-5 mahine bache the tab bhi maine tests nahi diye yeh sochkar ki pahle syllabus poora ho jaaye phir line se nta abyas ke 109 tests de dunga aur end tak aate aate maine mushkil se 2 tests bhi nahi diye the aur syllabus bhi thoroughly complete nahi hua jab mains hue toh pata chala ki maine toh kuch padha hi nahi tha, i was just abled to attend 30 questions phir bhi maine socha yeh toh 1st attempt hai baaki ke 3 me phodd dunga, lekin phir bhi mere isi pseudo confidence ke chalte mere baaki ke 3 mains me performance pahle se bhi jyada kharab ho gayi, phir maine badi himmat se drop liya yeh sochkar ki ab toh experience aa gaya hai mai under 250 rank toh le hi aaunga, starting ke 3 mahine me sab accha jaa raha tha, dpps solve kar leta tha, tests me bhi 180-190 aa jaate the aur lagne laga sab easily ho jaayega toh kyu na mai apne hisaab se advanced ki taiyaari khud shuru kardu and as a result maine apne coaching ko follow karna band kar diya aur khud se padhne laga, jab 4-5 mahine beet gaye tab laga ki mere saath ke students mujhse kahi guna accha kar rahe hai aur mai unse 100-150 marks peech hu, again things started to repeat aur maine tests dena chodd diya, and at the end mere paas kuch knowledge nahi bachi hai, bas bacha hai toh mera so called ghamand, frustration, demotivation and parents ko khusiya na de paane ka pachtaba.. If anyone is reading this, i wrote this to feel weightless, burdenless. Any upcoming aspirant please don't ever do what i did

Thanks sir, the same thing happened with me...from being in the top 20s initial tests...I have fallen down to a terrible score (overconfidence) .This also led to fear later.
