First you have to write a good pop song. Next, make the lyrics absurd, next perform it very well, and with sincerity. That's a rare combination to pull off. I listen to this frequently. Always enjoy it.

Jonathan Richman is singular. If Andy Kaufman and Adam Sandler had a love child, who later formed a band, it would be Richman. His voice sounds so sad, his lyrics are so whimsical. He is so punk rock, his songwriting is so traditional.
