As an American born in 67 I just delved into RM during the pandemic. I am BLOWN AWAY by Roxy Music! My favorite album by them is a 3 way tie between For Your Pleasure, Stranded and Country Life. Why they weren't popular in the States in the 72 onward time frame is beyond me! ♥️ Roxy Music

Possibly too esoteric for the U.S. audience, too artsy. Much of Bryan Ferry's persona was a bit tongue in cheek and possibly too subtle for mass success here, though everyone of a certain generation in the UK knows them, without exception. Bear in mind, they haven't released any new material in 40 years.

This is one of Roxy's best songs. Though it is counter to Bryan's suave debonair style with lines like 'Don't want to learn about etiquette from glossy magazines' (christ (small letters cause he ain't no god), every album cover of his is a glossy cover of a magazine, and every woman he likes is a tall glossy fashion model. His best line in the song is "Say no more about imagery; You're starting to confuse". At the end, he sings, 'Oo oo I'm all cracked up on you' which should be a little more well-known than it probably is. The guy is facing his band .. such a show of humanity and bonding. But all kidding aside, he's known to be a nice guy. L'amour, toujours l'amour

This looked stunned me. I’ve never seen him in anything except uniforms, near costumes, and of course his signature tuxes or blazers, but if you have shoulders that broad and such a perfect physique, why would you hide it in a boxy suit?
