The opening slide guitar and the solo are just brilliant. David Briggs is a master at matching a solo to the song.

LIVE in Michigan outdoor festival. Wolfman Jack introduced each band to 90,000 fans. First tour for opening band LRB. second band Nazareth. Third band Heart. Headliner Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. I kid you not....Little River Band stole the show and I became a fan for life. Have seen them MANY times

Amazing 70s song. Glenn's delivery is excellent. His body language says "I got this". I love that
@JohnHWelch63 Жыл бұрын
How are you interpreting his body language as egotistic arrogance? What do you think, he struts around thinking he's so damned great it's impossible for him to be a bit off his game? To me his body language is saying "I'm really enjoying this and having a great time, and I'm thrilled to be sharing the moment with my bandmates.".

When I was at Las Vegas Hilton this song flooded into my memories but I had not yet found my lady. Now 30 years later I have married and the lyrics resonate so powerfully in my heart remembering how lost I was in the 90s and how far I have come. When you find the perfect partner there are no regrets and absence makes the heart grow fonder. She is still with me after 25 years and we have the deepest love. I hope all who take time to read this will find true love. God bless.

This song brings back old memories from my high school days, early 1978. During an excursion week in Scheveningen (Holland) I met a really beautiful girl from Belgium. She was French-speaking and I was Dutch-speaking, the same age (18 yo). We had a wonderful evening and night together. She left for home, Brussels, the next day. Every time I hear this song 'Home on a Monday', I always think of that amorous night with that wonderful girl from Brussels, in 1978. Unfortunately, I have never seen her again since then.

How peacefully and calmly this music reflects this time. Harmonious beats and lively vocals. Everything is interwoven. Simply beautiful. And that's exactly what characterised LRB and made them stand out from other bands.

The way David Briggs works that custom volume knob for the pedal steel sounds is just genius. I guess I'm just an old cornball; where he sings about wanting to catch a glimpse of The Man From Memphis, I get a tear in my eye. Elvis had recently passed when Beeb Birtles wrote this song. The Hilton hadn't yet installed the statue and other Elvis tributes, so at the time, he was "gone, never leaving a trace."

What a gorgeous sound, one that could have only come from LRB. We seldom hear orchestral strings in songs any more since keyboards and synths have pretty much taken over that role but it’s hard to duplicate that lush romantic sound. Stellar guitar work as well, that understated solo is so beautiful.

One of the greatest songs ever! "Can you guess where I'm calling from? The Las Vegas Hilton, I know it's hard to hear, it's just the echo on the line. Yes, that's right I'm calling from The Las Vegas Hilton, I just want to say that I'm feeling fine. I'll be home on a Monday, somewhere around noon, please don't be angry, I'll be back with you real soon. I was hoping to catch a glimpse, of the man from Memphis, they told me that he had gone, never leaving a trace. I just could never get involved with those one-armed bandits, sure am craving for the smile on your face. I'll be home on a Monday, somewhere around noon, please don't angry, I'll be back with you real soon, yeah. You looked so lovely when I left I nearly didn't go, twelve thousand miles is such a long way, help me get to grips with Hollywood, you're getting through to me, Hollywood, you're in my movie. I'll be home on a Monday, somewhere around noon, please don't be angry, I'll be back with you real soon. Can you guess where I'm calling from? Yes, that's right I'm calling from The Las Vegas Hilton".
