On the same token as lobbing when the sun is shining in the opponents direction. I often lob a little more when playing at night under tennis court lights as the same thing can happen.

Very true! I absolutely hate losing the ball in the nights sky, hate night matches in general, everything feels double as fast 😂

even serving can be tricky with the lights

@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Indeed. I hate serving at night and often lose the ball in the light as well. Unfortunately, lately, my tennis partner can only play at night, but It's been a learning experience. Great channel by the way. Keep up the good work! :D

I've been trying to convince my son, a 12 Junior, to use the lob more to his advantage -- particularly the backhand lob into your opponent. He is not convinced yet. I am sure that this video will change his mind!

For sure, it’s very useful in junior tennis as the players are not as tall and high balls are even more difficult to handle

Thanks for the great video. Exactly as you pointed, lobe gives me a big trouble. For a short height player, how to return a high lobe with two-handed backhand? Can you do a video?

Thanks Alex, Is there a way to Lob deep & inside the court, sometimes more topspin may still land short and get smashed by the opponent.
@TopTennisTrainingOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Increase the height of your shot and add more power if the spin is dropping the ball short

Lob is such an underrated shot. I would like to use it against serve and volley guys too. My backhand return is much weaker so when they realize that they simply serve to my backhand and get an easy volley at the net. Also hard to practice lobs cos you lose so many balls haha

What’s the difference between a lob, and moonballing?
@TopTennisTrainingOfficial4 жыл бұрын
A lob tends to be higher, moonballs are more of a half lob with lots of topspin
