Has anyone got even a theory about how "transferring consciousness" is supposed to work? The most workable options would be one, putting your brain in a robot body, in which case your "consciousness" still resides in a far from immortal biological organ, or two, uploading an exact AI copy of your brain and memories, which would just create a copy of yourself with the actual "you" staying right where you are.

Great report. Even putting 10% of their money towards humanitarianism would be incredible. It proves...'The love of money is the root of all evil'. The reason billionaires can avoid taxes, is the laws put in place by congress (who have been bought by...milliolaires). I've been working with computers since 1968. Yes, they double every 1.5 years; & I still hate them. Another great job Karl.

I guess seasteading can work in theory. There are oil platforms out in the ocean that could be used a model. The real challenge would be supplying food, water, and power to the location. I guess you can grow your own food by setting up a hydroponic farm, use desalination to provide the water, and use renewable sources for the power. You may need to evacuate in case a hurricane comes. You would definitely need to be a billionaire to pay for the construction of such a project.

Basically something where I could go as long as I want and when I decide I have had enough I could turn it off and age fulfilled in my life. My bedroom had 2 windows. My parents took out one because it was super old. Then, years later, they decided to put an addition on the same side as the remaining window. It got boarded up too and I basically lived in a cave. The only way I knew if it was daylight is by the crack of light at the bottom of the door. I once took a nap and thought I slept for an entire day 😅 It wasn’t the worst but I also had ventilation from the rest of the house and wasn’t trapped in with a dozens of people’s farts

Being immortal...I wouldn't want to live "forever", but having a few extra decades would sound enticing to me, as then I could spend that time doing whatever I wanted. Using it to study and learn new skills, or to relax and play games I wouldn't otherwise have time to do, or to lose weight; I could definitely use a few extra decades.

Having very carefully read the contract, I would almost certainly take immortality. It would come with some hefty challenges but it would be the ultimate adventure. There would be time to see and do everything, to have a hundred careers, to write a thousand books, to love ten thousand dogs, to watch the upcoming technological singularity and see if it's what the big brains are predicting and whether it's the last one.

The US Supreme Court has ruled that it is every citizen's duty to handle their financials to pay as little taxes as possible.
