Nice video… I have fished many of these same places .. downtown/Hillsborough River can be hit or miss at times but I have hooked a bull shark on top water on the exact same sandbar where you hooked yours..I have fished the area where you caught the snook many times and even with live pilchards but never had any luck in that area

My dad was stationed at McDill AFB in the late 1960s. I loved Tampa. We used to camp and fish at a place called Twin Lakes, I'm not sure if it is still there, I think it was drained by a sink hole. I caught my first bass on a red and white Lazy Ike there. I'm from north central Arkansas.

The equipment is matched perfect for the size of fish. It shows great sportsmanship. My personal preference grip for a rod that SIZE would be in wood. As I’m wrestling with the fish my hand tends get a little clammy and Seeps better o the handle. I getter a better grip on the grip. 🤓👍 Way too cool! 😎

Should give the Braden river a shot sometime. I live on this river about an hour south of you. Wife and I caught 4 Redfish....4 Snook....2 ladyfish (who cares) in roughly two hours time yesterday. See dolphins several times a week. Had a large sting ray swim past the boat just to do a uturn and come pace the trolling motor right next to the boat for a good 10 minutes. Sat and fished around a half dozen manatees last week. Few gators from time to time. Otters seldom but once in a while. Woke up to first time ever seeing Green parrots in my trees. All in my backyard...absolutely love this river. Give it a shot if you happen to find the time. Short drive. Either way, great video.

At 10:30 I started grinning. The bite, the fight, the shriek of the reel. An adrenaline rush like a roller coaster ride. The moment you tried to lift the fish into the boat, I almost died. It's lucky that "only" the fishing line broke. How does it feel to be bitten by an angry shark? I have no idea, but I'm not really keen on finding out. Have a nice day or night today. take care stay safe

I don't know if I commented yet but where do you put your boat in the river or do you live on the river so is it always in? Additionally, is it safe to put a stern drive in there? Some rivers have to many shallow areas aand I don't like putting my boat in it.
