Your videos are an example to all KZbinrs. No unecessary 'music', no boring chat but excellent photography showing just what you are doing. You are also an exceptional blacksmith.

All of your videos leave me speechless. Your proficiency as a blacksmith is beyond exceptional, and dare say your skills with cinematography and editing are equally impressive. No doubt the 17 minutes I just spent watching your video will be the most beneficial use of my time today! I'd love to see plans for that guillotine also. Thank you for posting your video.
@torbjornahman9 жыл бұрын
GPaulSalvetti Ha ha, thank you very much! The guillotine is basically a ripoff of the "smithing magician" found here - www.blacksmithsupply.com/catalog.aspx?StoreName=blacksmith_supply&DeptID=269444 - I have no other plans.

Torbjörn Åhman+GPaulSalvetti I so agree with GPaul to watch your skill and finesse is a great pleasure and learning experience plus your videography improves all the time! Sometimes I can feel the metal moving to your coaxing...awe inspiring! Thanks for the link to the "magician"...really a versatile tool. Also wanted to ask if you ever sketch your pieces before you start or do you just go from your head to hands with it? Thanks Very Much! ~PJ
@torbjornahman9 жыл бұрын
pjsalchemy Thank you! Great! I often do sketches, it helps when you think through the working steps. I did a sketch for this one, shown briefly with the stating title. Had no other place for it...

+Rob Prebil Thank you! There is no spring, you have to open and close by hand. A good opening can be achieved with one hand.

What sets you apart from so many other smiths is your utter attention to the details. "as forged" is great and can look/function very well, but a smith that spends the time to hand file and fit his forged pieces is a step above the rest. One issue I've struggled with as a smith... the fine line between "good enough" and "perfection" since the latter takes 3 times as long. but you can't always charge 3 times as much.
