My grandfather was a woodworker. His workshop was full of different chisels, plains, wood mallets, and handmade clamps. When I was young, I was surrounded by the house stuff made by him. He left this world 30 years ago, but I still clearly remember him. Thank you for making me recalling him! You've made a wonderful chisel!

My father was an “old school “ carpenter, he kept a box of Sheffield steel chisels similar to the one you have made, however none had such a beautiful handle as this one of yours. Wonderful craftsmanship as usual, such an enjoyable video! Love your cats, I have “ Rag Dolls”, long haired. Regards from down under.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, they are still in the family, one of my sons is a carpenter and has inherited them. The carpentry skipped a generation, I am the metal worker which is probably why I enjoy your videos so much. My family share your love of cats, your cat is obviously well cared for and loved. Have a great day, regards from your Aussie friend.

While the chisel is another work of artistry, the cats cannot be surpassed for their elegance. Gifts from God, all three. I only have a couple of years’ experience as a blacksmith, but a half-century with cats. I know the look of a happy and contented one who loves its family. That’s different from merely living comfortably with a family.

Incredible attention to detail. I learned a new way to add tool steel to make the cutting edge. My greatgrandparents came from Lund and brought their blacksmithing with them when they settled in northern Minnesota. I wish I had been able to learn from them. I like to believe that they would have had the same sense of craftsmanship that you have in these videos.

11:40 I like the visible seam showing where the high carbon steel for the mono edge was forge welded on.

My cat actually watched almost all of the video. I've never seen him watch a video so intently before. He fell asleep near the end, but it was fun to watch him watching.

Your craftsmanship is only exceeded by the quality of your humanity. Seeing the kitty was particularly poignant because mine had to be put down yesterday after 14 years.

I am exhausted just watching. I try to think of how many hours you must have studied and worked to obtained this degree of skill. I wonder if you ever watch TV or waste time on anything else. Every time I thought this video couldn't impress me anymore, it proved me wrong.
