I’m really surprised James cast Rhythm of the Wild over activating Zacama to take out the Pyrohemia. With Torbran on board, 9 damage to everyone and their creatures after he passed was known information.

To be fair, a Tiamat and Zacama player would be the threats regardless of pyrohemia + Torbrand, but the two combined aren't anything to sniff at. If anything, the zacama player got greedy and played out their hand rather than keeping that mana open for zacama's abilities.

This game was so strange to me. I don’t understand how the torbrand and pyromhemia was not the immediate problem at the table. They even had the chance with the ugin or Zacama to pop the pyrohemia and also they could of put him low enough to activate it . I don’t think the pendrall mists was enough to want to murder someone when you had 4 creatures at the time with tons of mana. Especially with the darksteel plate and all of them being creature decks it should of been the main problem.
@C0medySeniorz2 жыл бұрын
Ugin couldn't do anything because he was at 3 life and he could activate pyro and kill him before it resolved. But you are absolutely right. I have no clue why they didn't focus torby. I honestly felt like this game they played with such high tier decks and they played like they were new.

Did I miss something or was Colin not taking damage from his own Pyrohemia? Torbran doesn't boost the damage to yourself, but Colin still should've been at a much lower life total by the end of that game. @@TheBalogna7 I have my own Saheeli deck, one of my favorites to play ever. She could be a very fast, very aggressive commander, if you build it to maximize her power (like dropping a Kozilek at turn 3). And if you mind to put all the mana rocks you can get. That deck has so many cards that doesn't contribute to the overall synergy.
@TheBalogna72 жыл бұрын
@@obliviouslich1722 I don't doubt that your deck is fast, but you simply can not make those comparisons given the limited evidence that we saw with this deck. Based on what you said, your deck may be maximized for speed, but theirs appears to lean in the stax direction with Eldrazi finishers. Again, we have limited information so I am speculating off what was in the video, but we saw a total of 8 non-land cards from their deck that game. 3 of them were stax pieces, 2 were ramp, 2 were Eldrazi, and only 1 seemed a little out of place (Sandstone Oracle). Having a different focus also means that their maximization differs from yours as varying strategies play differently. Until we have more info, claiming that the deck is terrible simply because it doesn't look like your deck is nonsense. This game result was 100% due to keeping a poor opening hand.
