I never got the Jack and Gwen ship either. Jack clearly has a lot of nostalgia for relationship in general, and has some sort of feelings for Gwen, though it's unclear what those feelings are. Gwen confuses me. The writing confuses me. But I'm glad you guys enjoyed the episode. Some really good laughs from this one. :D

Yeah, the Jack/Gwen thing is completely weird and out of character. And just very unnecessary. And it really mucks up both of their character arcs in season 2. Gwen already has Rhys. They did a little thing with Owen before she realised it was wrong and stopped. And that arc was a bit dodgy too in its lack of resolution. Wish they had just let her and Jack be like Jack and Rose were. Great friends, a bit of flirting, but more like close family then anything else. If they wanted a straight couple they should've focused more on Tosh/ Owen. It's frustrating because Torchwood has such a strong concept and cast. I love Doctor Who to bits, but there are limits to the kinds of darker, more adult concepts it can cover. Also, if they wanted a good Gwen story, WHY did they not utilise the Gelth and the rift?! One of the coolest links between the shows is that Eve Myles is in both of them and that it's even brought up in the canon of Doctor Who that she is essentially an echo of Gwyneth created from the rift, essentially a reincarnation of her. They could've made such an interesting episode with that concept and brought in historical elements and some wacky rift shenanigans. It would've been so much fun.

Well, folks didn't run off for a simple reason: All the cell-phones are blocked, so there is no outside contact. "Wait and see" kicks in, especially for the British. Nobody wants to leave where they are if the alternative is the great unknown. [no cell phones is the unknown] Besides, food, booze and fancy dress, immaright? Jack doesn't see Gwen as a sexual conquest, more like a person of mutual respect and love. Jack might be banging Ianto but he sees Gwen as a strong woman and needs her by his side. I think Gwen is attracted to the mystery of him and seriously whether you're a man or woman I wouldn't say no to that!!!!!!

I didn't say that did I? Jack needs a strong team by his side regardless of what their gender is. Gwen is a strong person, the fact she is a woman doesn't matter to Jack. He doesn't care if they're man, woman, alien, bi sexual, rainbow coloured, has 4 arms, 6 heads whatever, as long as they can do the job . Don't take what I said and twist it to make it sound like something it isn't.

Actually, I've been sending comments about that for a while now, telling them to get to SJA 3x3 : "The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith" before they watch "The End of Time" because it has build-up for Tennant's last episode. Seeing this video had just come out, I figured that the fewer comment there are, the more chance they'll see it. I STILL haven't watched the video 'cause I'm too busy at the moment so, yeah... it wasn't because of the Wedding.

Ugghhhh this was my least favorite episode of this season. Gwen was being so stubborn and risking the lives of her family in it all because it just had to be THAT day. Usually alright with Gwen but this episode really made me annoyed at her. Though luckily it had it's good moments, such as the events towards the end of the episode.
