Tori Amos performing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall as part of her Unrepentant Geraldines world tour. Recorded on Wednesday 12th November 2014.
This was by far the best live concert show I have ever been to and I’ve seen a lot of the great performers like Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Coldplay, Sheryl Crow & Mariah Carey to name a few. But there’s something much more personal about a live show where there is a setlist that changes every night depending on the performers mood or what they feel like performing. Rather than be about video screens and dance routines, it was about the music, the artist and the musical instruments. It was also my first time experiencing a live orchestra and I was blown away! Amazing! Also had one of the best seats in the house at the front row!
Sure, she didn’t perform any of my favourite tracks ‘Carry’, ‘1000 Oceans’, ‘Black Dove’, ‘Flavor’, 'Happy Phantom', ‘Caught a Lite Sneeze’, ‘A Sorta Fairytale’, ‘I Can’t See New York’, ‘Crucify’, ‘Pretty Good Year' or 'China’ but that didn’t matter as what she did perform was flawless and I enjoyed every minute of the show, despite admittedly being not overly familiar with a couple of the songs she performed.
If Tori is coming to your city anytime in the future, make sure you get a ticket, you won’t be disappointed!
Sadly couldn’t upload in HD as the file was too big! =(
