That's not crazy, that's passion. And most of us don't know how to label it, when they see real passion. This lady, I think Mozart would have had such a crush.

I love hearing the music change as she's speaking...kind of like she's in a movie and the music will become perfect background to what she's talking about or what topic they come to. So wonderful.

OmG this has got to be the best interview ever! Such a genius and so underrated. But I’m glad cuz I don’t want her to be mainstream. I’d rather remain in her cult following.
@thomasmathis23263 жыл бұрын
She was mainstream in the 90's. Tne rise of the Seattle sound from bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvan led to the Grunge and "alternative music" genre from bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth and the female singer/songwriter/artist like Bjork, PJ Harvey, and Tori Amos. You'd frequently hear their singles played on alternative rock radio and crossover to pop radio every now and then. For Tori I remember hearing "Crucify", ""Cornflake Girl", and "Caught a Lite Sneeze" often on the radio. Even with the radio play popularity people either really liked her or really disliked her. You are right in saying that she wasn't for everybody and that it's good because it kind of felt like yay! more for us
@wellofcire3 жыл бұрын
@@thomasmathis2326 and now it's become 'grungier' then any of them would stand to imagine....and of course lower IQ if you will.....it's strange in a stupid-o kind of wehh....

it's fascinating how she feels the piano inside her soul when she talks about something, and how the piano beautifully fits her feelings

Wow. That's all the characteristics I need in a great musician. Technique, improvisation, knowledge and - most important of all - soul. People who make music without soul are craftsmen, nothing more.

i know how she feels when it comes to the love of the piano. destroying a piano is a sin. ie throwing them out whatever. im about to update to a better piano and having to say goodbye to my sweet 16 piano that ive had for almost 15 years.. its gonna make me cry harder than just about anything, but she will be going to a good home to a person who is just starting out like i was many years ago.

tori is now my new idol. i'm sure many fellow musicians feel this way as well, but music is our friend when no one else is there. it doesn't discriminate, it'll always be there for you. you can convey your emotion into one piece and sometimes a piano or any instrument is the only one that listens. i never really thought that there was anyone else in the world who felt this relationship with music, but seeing how tori loves her piano maybe more than people..i love her for that

I am quite sure she was. I think her statement was made out of an unusually strong passion for her music. If you listen to the way she talks about the pianos, and personifies them, you can tell that she has an amazing relationship with an object that allows her to communicate with the world in a way that few are able. She is able to express the vast array of emotions through an instrument that has become part of her very existence. It is NOT to be threatened by anyone.
