I used to see her every Friday night in a local piano bar in Georgetown DC. We became friends then she left for LA and I lost touch, her name change from Ellen to Tori made her career a secret to me until I saw her face on a CD at a music store and thought, I know that face and BAM! I couldn't believe it. She was doing cover music of all the big names like Billy Joel, Sinatra etc and she was better than them at their own songs, then she would throw in some of her own music that she was writing but she was way ahead of the times for the early 1980's. This song is her to a tee, real feelings from real life. Tori is great.

Aurora and Ren are two very impressive musicians and emotional singers who both write their own deep lyrics! Aurora also plays the piano but most of the time she is "just" singing. Like an angel. I recommend her live versions! Especially "Lucky" & "Through the eyes of a child" both live at Nidarosdomen, "It happened quiet" live at the current and "All is soft inside" live at KEXP. And a lot more. And Ren's voice skills combined with his completely self-taught guitar skills and his sophisticated lyrics are a pleasure to our souls as well! You can see the pain and hatred in her eyes and facial expressions and it breaks my heart for her and anyone who has been through something like that. Is that why he was on her back? Because he couldn't look her in her eyes while he stole her pride, her sense of being safe and secure, her self confidence, her innocence, and so much more. I can't understand how a man could do that to get their sick satisfaction as if she isn't human. Nobody deserves that and nobody should feel like it's ok to do that to someone. She is still paying an unimaginable price for a few minutes of pleasure for a man who deserves torture not pleasure.
