This is actually my first time hearing this, and being a 70's kid, I was head over heels for Olivia Newton John AND Karen Carpenter!😍 The fact that Tori can mimic both of them accurately just blows my mind!! This girl is insanely talented, and it really shows in this track! Thanks Jesse for a great review!😉👍👍👍

Hey there, 'Dan Man' here. What a great reaction. I must have seen about 20 reaction videos to this song and it's lovely to hear so many different perspectives and they all pull out different stuff they notice. Yours is definitely the most detailed on the technical stuff. As a musician and producer I love it when people notice the smaller details. You began by noticing the delay on the hi hat in the intro and turnarounds. That was achieved by copying the hat to a separate channel, gating it so no other drums are in there and then adding an 8th note delay. I heard that was going on in the original so it had to be in there. And you were exactly right about the harmony singing. Backing and harmony singers have to have no ego, and of course when you are blending with a voice as beautiful as Tori's it is your job to enhance the sound and let her shine. Great video. I can tell you know your stuff. 👌🏻

What a detailed reaction, Jesse! I loved it. I keep learning stuff like this and it’s great. Yes that’s an Ovation Celebrity acoustic/electric. I know because Tori linked it in her most recent short a Sabrina/Joni mashup. Check that out on her channel if you want to see some creativity in arranging 3 songs into one. Nuts! 😊 Other than some shorts this is her most recent full length song. Something new has to drop soon, I hope so anyway. Be well! Joe

This had nice harmonies. Dan is very good at cutting below in the harmonies to let Tori shine. I have to be honest and say I think he suits the parts where he is singing in harmony than as a lead vocalist. Tori has a sweet voice with some nice touches especially in her trailing notes and soft rises. I enjoyed listening.

Thanks Jesse for your insight, knowledge, and appreciation of this outstanding vocalist team. Dan offers himself as a great partner for Tori, both instrumentally and harmonies. Tori Is a star that needs to be discovered as I have said many times. I'm glad you took the opportunity to listen to the original as it really allows you to analyze this performance based on a starting point. In fact, I always suggest that reactors do this for any song they don't know. Thanks again for all and I am really happy to see you doing better.

If you haven't heard the original, it will give you a new appreciation for her skill at emulating Olivia. Dan is not Cliff Richard, but he is a great Dan Wesley, and that lets Tori shine.
