The first time I heard this was on a cold Winter day in my car. I pulled over to listen, mesmerized, on an icy road under falling snow, living in a town I hated but couldn't leave. I didn't catch who it was on the radio. It was like the time I saw the most beautiful woman in the world on the Star Ferry crossing from Hong Kong to Kowloon, simply brush the hair out of her eyes, and I saw novels. I listened to the same station hoping to catch the song again and find out who it was. Some time later, I lay in bed late one night and the song came on the radio. I was transfixed when the phone rang. A very rare event in my tiny basement apartment. I didn't jump out of bed to answer it. I had to hear this song again, see the beauty in Hong Kong again, and learn who was singing. The phone rang and rang and then stopped. The next day my mother called me. She said, "Your grandmother died yesterday. I tried to call you."

When you gonna love you as much as I do? When you gonna make up your mind? 'Cause things are gonna change so fast All the white horses are still in bed I tell you that I'll always want you near You say that things change, my dear Boys get discovered as winter melts Flowers competing for the sun Years go by and I'm here still waiting Withering where some snowman was Mirror, mirror, where's the crystal palace? But I only can see myself Skating around the truth who I am But I know, Dad, the ice is getting thin When you gonna make up your mind? When you gonna love you as much as I do? When you gonna make up your mind? 'Cause things are gonna change so fast All the white horses are still in bed I tell you that I'll always want you near You say that things change, my dear Hair is grey and the fires are burning So many dreams on the shelf You say I wanted you to be proud of me I always wanted that myself When you gonna make up your mind? When you gonna love you as much as I do? When you gonna make up your mind?

This song is like the soundtrack to my life right now. I lost my father in 2015, and in a month Im getting married and im freaking out. I so wish my dad was around to give me advice and to give me away.

At least you had one. I have C PTSD and no father or kids or husband. Put I play piano. Not because of my parents. Because if myself and my fighting spirit.

This song is haunting and beautiful. It gives me chills. I don't know if Tori ever sings her songs the same twice. I love it.

So thankful I grew up with her music, no shade on Taylor, but this was more than pop music.

Stunning. The lyrics. Her voice. Her prowess on the piano. I just found this video. It’s a masterpiece. She’s beautiful inside and out. The emotion that she shows while singing this song is obvious. She wrote this about her dad which just gives it even more meaning to her and us listening to it. I will be listening to this forever.

This video performance was my first introduction to Tori, I immediately fell in love when I saw it in 2014. She has changed my life with her music

Tori is amazing. I've watched many people sing songs over my 50 years. Before she sings, you can see a memory spark for her. She's far away in the past but at the same time, present with her audience. It's a rare thing to see in artists who sing the same songs thousands of times during their career. She is one of a kind.

So so lovely. 28 or 29, but she looks even younger. This is so pure, and her signature way of gazing out into the audience and her magical presence is already there.

How anybody can be in that audience and not lose their ever-loving minds when she starts this song is beyond my ability to understand. One of the most beautiful songs ever created in the history of recorded music. Chills. EVERY. Single. TIME!

Only recently come across this heart rendering performance. Even if it wasn’t for the hint of tears in her eyes all the way through and the occasional catch in her throat (particularly near the end), the beauty & strength of the lyrics alone would be sufficient to touch our souls. This is a perfect illustration of the power of genuine emotion combined with live performance. Powerful enough for me to take a serious look at my relationship with my own daughter. Thank you Tori.

"When you gonna make your mind, when you gonna love yourself as much as I do" always breaks my heart. Brilliantly beautiful. I don't believe is angels, but if they exist Tori is one... what a beautiful creature.
