Hey Bill can you do the same video with the 24-in barbarian to a 24 cruiser if have one at the shop. Or even compare it to an MX 26 that would be awesome. I would like to get a 24 in but I'd like to see the difference in a comparison the way you just did compared to a 24 crew or 26 MX

That was my question at the first run. I have my original 280x 20” from 1983, but for the past 15 years have been riding a 1983 panda pro a 24” I’m now 50 years old now, so the first run I was in decided until the last second but clicked the MX26, I love it ! It’s way more comfortable than I expected and I ride more than I thought I would. So on Torker second run I ordered a barbarian 24” just because I’m addicted . It’s so much better than I expected, way better than a old school 24, more nimble and fun than the MX 26 but you know your on a 24. So to answer your question, you can’t go wrong with either but if you are just riding for fun to put miles on go MX 26. If you want to get aggressive with street style or track go barbarian 24, even better get both like I did!

Jose, we would love to, but the first run of 24" sold out in under 3 minutes and there are none left. We only have a few of the Barbarian 24" left, but we did jsut do a Barbarian 26" to MX26" Video comparison.

@@JoseRuiz-zr5es i will try to get some pictures up on facebook of my 24 barbarian next to my MX26. Might take me a week It is worth having both surprisingly the 24 riders as good as the mx26 for me just under 6’ tall its very comfortable to ride

What I'd like is an EXACT REPLICA of the 1981 26" race cruiser. No modern features at all. Pure old school to build-up with a traditional 1" Tange headset, 7/8" post and an OPC. Stamp it on the ends and BB shell so that it won't ever get passed off as an original, but otherwise totally true to '81. That would be super-cool. Modern features simply aren't necessary on a bike that's for old guys like me to cruise on. Only an OPC has the right look for an early eighties styled bike. OPCs rule.

But then we ruin the hunt for you to actually find an original. And we want to leave the originals as just that, originals, and we did build a threaded , 7/8” side pull, but did put the Euro bb to separate it .

@@torkerbmx There's nothing wrong with serious, exact "continuations" from the original brand. Even Aston Martin and Jaguar do it. Colt do it. Just mark it as a rep and it's legit - nobody will criticise youy. I might find an original, but could I afford it and would I dare use it? The answer to both is no. OPCs are under represented in the collector world where there is the benefit of 100% choice and hindsight. It wasn't all exotic kit BITD. Pick up an old copy of BMXA and look at any pro starting gate from '81. Most top riders still didn't have Flights or Profiles. OPCs are the hot tip.

@@torkerbmx agree completely! i enjoy the new big size 29 and all the modern upgrades to make these bikes STRONGER than before. Don't need to repeat the flaws of the past. I've tried so many "classic" parts previously, and so much of it gets stuck or flexes dangerously. People that want exact remakes are just lazy to search themselves, it's been done, let's move onto the modern! go Torker! just stay away from aluminum frames and disc brakes, that's a BMX direction we don't need.
@mikehedrick4349Ай бұрын
Any disc brake versions? Love the retro frames but v brakes just suck. ✌🏻
@torkerbmxАй бұрын
We did a few disc brake versions in the 29” and boy did people get mad and want V brake, now we did them as V brake and people want Disc… crazy… on a 29” it should be disc with the wheel size for sure!

@@torkerbmx nah stick with vbrakes or ubrakes. they got their disc 29 and took forever to sellout (and so many tried to resell them without luck). and now they crying about wanting disc again. Supercross still has 29" disc in BOTH aluminum and chromoly, and nobody buying them, but they'll cry about it after they sellout. Disc brake don't belong in BMX.
