Τορνάκι Optimum D180x300 προς πώληση / Optimum D180x300 mini-lathe for sale

Ίσως κάποιοι από εσάς να αναρωτηθούν για πιο λόγο το τορνάκι είναι προς πώληση. Ο λόγος είναι προφανής, δεν μπορεί πλέον να καλύψει τις ανάγκες του εργαστηρίου μου. Θα ήθελα έναν μεγάλο τόρνο, αλλά αυτό είναι αδύνατο γιατί το εργαστήριο είναι μικρό, οπότε προσανατολίζομαι σε τόρνο με μέγιστη διαμήκη κατεργασία όχι μεγαλύτερη από 500-600mm.
Some of you may be wondering why the lathe is for sale. The reason is obvious; it can no longer meet the needs of my shop. I would like a large lathe, but this is impossible because the shop is small, so I am looking for a lathe with maximum center to center length 500 or 600mm.

Stay away from Chinese lathes. I have an Austrian 11" lathe now 30 years. I love every minute of owning it. By the way spent 10 years in Thesaloniki in the 60`s. Loved that also.

Thanks for the advise, but I'm affraid that is unavoidable for two reasons. First is that Chinese lathes are at least 1.5 times cheaper than used European made lathes, second is the limited space of my shop - I would love to had a used Emco maximat super 11, but both the price and size are beyond my budget and space. I have been in Thessaloniki many times; beautiful city, you can discover new things everytime you visit it! All the best Jimmy

Around your area it might be possible to find used but in still excellent condition Emco Super 11, Myford 254, 280 Denford, Harrison M250 etc lathes that are about the size your looking for. There's also a few very high end used machines such as the Schaubilns and Weilers, but most likely for much more than your willing to pay. Today and brand new? They might be at the upper end of your size requirements, but the 280 - 290 VF lathes www.warco.co.uk/metal-lathes/302934-wm-290-lathe.html are ok to fairly decent and I own one of the 280 versions. There's multiple dealers in various country's selling the same lathes though. There about the only new machines I know of being made today that most of us can afford to buy. It just depends on your budget, maximum space and the machine weight for where it will be placed if any of my suggestions might work for you.

emcos are stupidly overrated. prices are joke. for an 10/2 price of an emco i would go with the chinese.

The lathes you mention are exceptional machines, but it's almost impossible to find them here and if someone is lucky enough to find any of these lathes he must have a very thick wallet because the prices will be sky high! An example: about a year ago I found a used Emco maximat super 11; when I heard its price, I took off like an airplane - the price was 4500 Euros!! Unfortunately I can't afford any of the above; now Warco lathes are closer to my budget, but there isn't official supplier here. There is though a supplier for Weiss lathes and here is what I have seen and liked: www.weissmachinery.com/bench-lathe/57290812.html has geared headstock as well as longitudinal & cross power feed. I have seen the lathe up close and know that can placed on my bench without any problem; to get it though, I must sell first my mini-lathe. Thanks again for your suggestions! Please stay safe! @@JimmysCanal Yes I've heard that machine tools including the new Chinese one's in some country's can be very hard to find and expensive even from China. It might be worth double checking what's involved to order, arrange your own shipping and import from a dealer outside your own country. Shipping quotes can vary widely and I've had personal experience of some company's charging double or more what other freight company's might charge. So it's well worth getting at least 6 or more freight quotes. For what it's worth my 280 VF and the Warco 280 - 290 VF lathes are also made by Weiss. There located in Nanjing China. I'm not sure about the lathe in your link, but for mine even though it's got a gear box to change threading ratios and feeds it's still classified as a semi Norton style gear box. What that means is there's a limited range of threads and feeds that can be done. For anything outside what the installed gearing in that gear box can do then further gear changes need to be done to the gear ratios inside the gear cover on the far left side of the machine. That may or may not be all that important to you. This type of gear box can be more versatile and be set up to cut a larger range of threads than some lathes with a more conventional fixed gear box can. It's obviously slower and less convenient than a proper gear box with a full range of common threads or feeds might be. Your going to see a massive difference between what your mini lathe is capable of and a 250 mm - 280 mm swing can do. This is a fair example of what the 280 VF lathes are capable of. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZikk2acnryVpqM In my opinion and after owning one before I bought my 280 VF the Sieg C6 sized lathes aren't worth owning. Because of what I received and how my lathe was so poorly built I'll never buy another new lathe that doesn't come with a proper test certificate.

Thanks for your reply! There is official supplier of Weiss machinery in Greece, I don't need to order it from abroad. I have visited his warehouse and saw the lathe up close. You did well mentioning, that your 280 VF and the Warco 280 - 290 VF lathes are made by Weiss. I have notice the same model numbers in many different brands; I'm sure that Weiss is one of the main manufacturers and supplies machinery to various brand names. Yes, I'm sure that I will see a huge difference between my mini-lathe and the new one - whenever it come!
