While traveling from Colorado to Minnesota for my niece's graduation in 1995 I saw a tornado dissappear but it actually had rain blocking my ability to see it. The road turned to the right and then the tornado pulled the rain in and it was right on us. The overpass kept our windshield from getting smashed but others didn't do as well 😮 So one sneaky up close tornado was enough for my curiosity

Just out of Minneapolis westbound I 94 there was a bad tornado that summer. Hid under an overpass forc20 minutes. Pure terror. After power lines down, semi trucks overturned, large billboard signs on the side of the interstate twisted and barns destroyed and scattered everywhere. Lucky we stopped.

North of Calgary, Alberta had a tornado touch down a few days ago. It was one of the most powerful ever recorded in Canada. It tore houses apart like they were nothing. It was in the Carstairs area. Nobody was killed. One lady hid in her basement until the tornado passed. I am reminded of the hymn, "Til the Storm Passes By". Of course there was hail and some rain along with the wind.

Growing up in Wisconsin, we've seen many tornados. When I was a teenager, a F2 went between our 2 farms about 1/4 mile apart. It tipped over several forage wagons but twisted our neighbor's house on its foundation. In 1996, we were coming home from seeing "Twister" and a state trooper was blocking our road. Turns out an EF5 was blowing through after just hitting Oakfield WI ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_Oakfield_tornado_outbreak ). It went passed about 1/2 mile in front of our car. It was HUGE!

I’m LOVE storms. We don’t get tornadoes here in PA & big storms go around us bc of the mountains. So, I get my “storm fix” watching storm chasers like Reed Timmer. He filmed inside a tornado this year in the “Dominator 3”

I cannot begin to imagine what a tornado is really like our whirl winds that play havoc with dry hay swaths and combine straw swaths pale into total insignificance compared to a proper tornado. That has to be a truly frightening experience if you happen to be close to one of them - I've seen film from when one goes through a urban area and one also that tore through a large dairy farm. Just awful damage and destruction.
