Thanks again for the videos. I love watching the seasons in Montana. I live in se costal North Carolina. we only get snow once every 3 or 4 years and then only a dusting. In 1973, we got 4 inches of snow followed by 3 inches of ice from a freak costal storm. Schools were closed for 14 days, and we did not have salt or salt trucks or snow plows. Everything was shut down.I had an 820 john deere so I could pull out cars. I'm watching y'all live and work with feet of snow truly amazing to see.

Looking at all the gadgets installed I'm still amazed how my family was able to get the harvest off each year when I was growing up in the 60s.

Hey Tony, you got yourself a "little" drill! About like my cousin having a 12 row corn planter for cleanup and replanting. By the way they run 2 36 row planters .

Some day you’ll sit in your office with a Joystick controller running your 1,000hp Quad, 150’ drill and 2500 bu cart, remotely, only making slight corrections from the mapping software that is variable rate seeding and applying fertilizer from the field files. Crazy thing is the technology exists today to do all of that.
@clearskiesranch1362Ай бұрын
It’ll be done remotely for sure but with dozens of smaller drones working 24/7. The days of huge machinery like this are numbered
@chrissyfrancis8952Ай бұрын
I think Zach Johnson will be one of the first farmers to test it out. Makes sense, he’s a Millennial, minimize physical labor as he always says.😂
@6by6by6Ай бұрын
Who’s going to fix the plugging and lose tubes that come unhooked.. along with all the other stuff that goes wrong on a daily and sometimes hourly basis.. Farming is way more than steering the tractor.. Anyone that is involved in farming knows that humans can never be replaced by technology..
@chrissyfrancis8952Ай бұрын
@ you’re right. I’ve seen remote controlled sprayers that operate like electric mowers. They operate inside a perimeter & return to the fill area when empty. Plus the drones. It would be more work trying to fine tune a combine. As it is now, the farmers are out checking losses & changing settings every field or variety change, someone would be trailing it anyway.

I have a question? My dad was a farmer. I have managed assemblies in special machine construction worth up to 2 million euros in many countries. These countries were Russia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, France, Holland, Paraguay and the USA. Why do you have to treat the seeds with poison? The poison mainly affects the consumer!

Probably did this long ago. Have farmers traded fields, renumerating for disparities of soil type, terrain etc; To consolidate their own farms? Industrial tree farms, private, state and federal landowners did it past here in N.W. USA.
