Hey gang, Getting lots of tornadoes this year including the Mangum Oklahoma tornado on May 20th and the Henryetta Oklahoma tornado on May 22nd. I'll eventually get around to editing that stuff, but for now, it's storm footage harvest time. There will be sneak peaks on my Patreon and I'm posting pics on instagram. Cheers from Plainview Texas.

You know what I love about the footage starting at 2:36? The colors of this scene remind of tornado pics from the 70s-90s, when cameras were low quality and really exemplified the darker purples, greys, blues, and blacks of the tornado and storm clouds above it; and the lighter yellows and whites of the background when the sun was facing the camera. Examples being the 1995 Dimmitt TX tornado, the 1981 Cordell OK tornado, and my personal favorite, the 1979 Seymour TX tornado. The way the white tornado positions itself in front of the dark purplish expanse of the rest of the storm really mimics what the images these cameras produced. Absolutely beautiful.

Hey Hank! I just found your channel last week. Ironically I live in Canadian,Tx and am a journeyman lineman for our local electrical cooperative. That tornado did some crazy things to our power lines. It ripped the wire right off the poles and had it strewn across both sides of the highway but left the poles intact. Normally poles and wire both are torn down during events like that. I even found a 1x2 piece of galvanized tin that cut straight through a cedar fence post! Crazy stuff! We worked for about 28 hours trying to repair the damage done to our system. It’s really nice to see what actually caused it. We normally just see the devastation that is left and rarely get to see the culprit. Thank you for all that you do, and stay safe out there!

On June 23rd, 2015, when a confirmed EF-0 touched down for just about 30 seconds and stayed almost within 1 field in Cherry Hill, I realized that the threat of tornadoes here in New Jersey was still very real, no matter how hard or rare it is for a storm like that to form here. With the recent outbreak of Tornadoes, I decided to get back to watching your channel, and be prepared for any kind of event, whether it’s serious or not. I appreciate you making these videos. I’ve heard stories of a wedge tornado getting hit by lightning several times and each time lightning hit the tornado it kept picking up speed
@masonmunkey61365 жыл бұрын
What time did you see the lightning because at some point I saw a transformer blow up which kinda looked like lightning but I didn’t see any actual strikes

As you were speeding down the road, I got flashbacks from some of those 2013 El Reno videos as that one was closing in on chasers. Glad you made it out safely because you make the best videos!

It sounds awesome, but on reflection, I hope we don't get another repeat of 1981. We actually got 104 tornadoes that day! Of course, I was a toddler back then, so I wouldn't have been aware if any had come close.

I Love how it takes a whole community to combat these beasts. From the weather man predicting the storm, to storm spotters on the ground, to storm chasers saving lives daily to warn people of its direction of destructiveness, to the community making sure everyone is underground, to the police officers keeping people away, to the first responders and locals helping the scathed and battered, to God choosing who to protect and let go...... I envy you. You get to witness these magnificent things that I wish I could at least experience once. I’m proud of your work and what you do for us. You have given me so much insight on what these are really all about. You’ve knocked down all the misconceptions about tornadoes. You’ve proven that they CAN be formed in the mountains, they CAN travel ling distances, they DONT always move to the east or forward,(they can decide their own path), they CAN travel across rivers and hills..... honestly if it wasn’t for your footage and research many would be dead. To give you a little story...... I live 20 miles from Washington PA. Even living remotely close to this location, we in WV never ever imagined tornadoes being a reality. We had no idea that this area even witnessed these on a daily basis. Well it took an EF4 to gain attention, it took that monster to finally make our news to report on it. And it was heading towards our direction. We got a tornadoe warning but nobody took it seriously. Everyone though, it’s located 40 minutes away it won’t reach here! Well it did die about ten minutes from where I lived, but it could have reached my house. I had to tell everyone in my area, even blasted it on Facebook to alarm everyone that these things can travel great distances and to seek a nearby shelter. If it wasn’t for your footage or your testimony, many people could have lost their lives if the tornado decided to travel just 5 miles longer. People only took me seriously bc I shared and showed people your footage which enabled people to know the truth about these things.

You got a grandma praying for you quite a bit. I have been mesmerized by storms since I was a child - to the point where I forget other people don't always feel the same way and I will sometimes look out a window on a stormy day and sigh happily, "Oh what lovely weather..." Didn't realize how odd that was until one day someone said to me - do you snip the heads off roses - which momentarily confused me. But then I thought oh Lilly Munster. You are all too young to know who that is aren't you? At any rate, beautiful footage! Thanks so much!

I live in Tulsa and it's been a crazy week. Had 3 tornadoes within 10 miles of me last Monday and actually got hit by the one that went through last night. Just glad it didn't kill anyone. It's been an explosive storm season to say the least. We're unfortunately in for another round in a couple days. Love your videos Pecos Hank. Do try to stay safe.

00:06 Turns into driveway entrance to get the perfect view of the monster tornado. 00:20 Realizes the tornado is headed straight in his directions. 00:20.5 Making up mind whether to stay or whether to run. 00:21 Throws car in reverse and nopes the f*ck away. But I'm just wondering, what makes a tornado have its different colors? Is it the amount of precipitation and light being let through the clouds? I ask because I of that grey almost white tornado at the end of the video. Rarely see those. Stay safe out there, brother. Get back home safe to your wife. I know I'd be haulin butt back home afterward to give my wife a big hug if I had one.

Depends on debris it's sucking in

The color is what kind of diet the tornado has. You are what you eat, basically. A clean fresh one is just the color of storm clouds. Also hope you score a wife someday. Or a husband. Whatever floats your boat, I guess

Hank, I've studied, learned and tracked. Chased locally. I chased TX, OK, KS and NE last week. The biggest difference between you and me is balls, sir. I saw 5 in 3 days but from longer range than you. I truly salute you o7 - and now that you're part of a scientific endaevor, I salute you even stronger. Thanks for all you do on YT, and also for the greater good.
