I heard on someone else's video that the drum auger prevents the impeller from taking in more snow than it can handle thus preventing clogs. Replacing shear bolts on these if you need to can be kind of a pain. Also Toro sells their sheer bolts and the lock nuts separately.

Have a question on this model. Picked up an approx 1987 model that has hardly been used. Used last week and had couple isuses. the augers are making quite the noise and had 2 approx 5 inch long metal strips that I found in the drive afterwards. Any idea what they were or where they came from? Opened the gearbox level check and grease looked solid - is that correct? How do you drain that?

I got one for free and I am looking for a oem carb rebuild kit for it. Do you have a part number for it? I am having no luck.

Look up the model and serial number of the engine and go to your lawnmower dealer and get the parts

Is that the original fuel cap? My uncle gave me one of these and I just noticed the fuel cap, which is crowned at the top with a pinhole for air flow, shoots out of gas when the motor is running. If not, where did you get yours?

Get the model serial number off of your engine and go to the lawnmower shop and tell him to look it up

My front propeller unit thi G never fully stops moving. It definitely slows down versus when it is engaged. Any ideas?

Nobody wants to spend $110 for a carburetor OEM I’ll take a $28 carburetor it all works the same I’ve never had any trouble with knock off carbs

So, a good 4-5 minutes in on this "helpful" video is Hillbilly Bob telling us "I don't rightly know what all this stuff is..." Really great that you posted this, Bob, as you didn't fookin' show your work, or anything else pertinent to anyone trying to fix their Toro. You knob, you waste of space! This helps no one with anyone. Reminds me of another knob who posted a similar video that told us we needed to take out the engine mounts on an old Olds Valero in order to replace the alternator...cuz that proud Son of the South never heard of the tool that parts stores will "rent" you for free for that purpose. Is it really any wonder that the South ain't never risen again? Yee, howdy, Billy Bob! Amazingly helpful you have been.
