Toro Lawn tractor blade engagement lever repair

This is how I repaired the broken lever to engage the cutting blades on my Toro wheel horse lawn tractor.
I used a 3/8 16 threaded rod I got from Ace hardware.

I had the same problem, cheaply designed. I didn't have time to go to Ace or anywhere so I put the lever back in and poured some Gorilla Glue over the ends...been almost 3 years and it worked every time. But your video was very helpful thanks for posting it brother.

Just got a mower for free because this was broken and I couldn't figure out how it was supposed to be because all the parts were missing

What size thredded rod?

I have the same problem. Where does that cable go to? Tips on getting the gas tank off?

Not sure about the cable, just engages the blades, but the brass colored bar you see in the video holds the gas tank in, there's a 5/16" bolt that holds each end of the rod in place, if you loosen those, the gas tank should be free, just set it up out of the way. Good luck

So the cable didn't break, it was the ribs that held the rod that broke..Good job repairing it..

so u drilled a hole on both sides? mine did the same thing..

@@garysmith7342 Sorry for the late response, you probably fixed yours already, but yes i drilled both sides so the threaded rod went all the way through.
