Dry storing over winter is the key with these engines.I have dry stored briggs engines for five years and have started first pull.

I bought a 20333 in 2016. Started on first pull yesterday. Changed spark plug at 6 y 10 m. It has the spin stop feature i like. $399. To get spin stop now it's $999 on their super recycler.

Does this 1 have the push button start up too????? I'm trying to figure out since the push button isn't assembled if I can just use the pull cord instead. It's annoying getting mower out of box and realizing you need to put the push button together and charge it 24hrs b4 1st use..... That's pretty CRAP TASTIC so guess I'll find out. I have a similar model that folds up to store. I love it! Might I recommend that you only use premium gasoline as it has little or no ethanol in it. Buy a smaller amount of fuel at a time like 5 gallons to keep it fresh and yes empty the gas to store it. Also please wear steel toed safety boots... Regards dave

Have the same mower with electric start .. came with the purchase of the house .. it starts no problem but after you run it for a while, stop it and it won't restart.. let it sit for 30 minutes and then it restarts ... any suggestions why

The Briggs 190cc engine will last for years if maintained. Won't be making those flat heads for many more years. Great engine

Their out of production as of this year. Last year was the last year. All Toro's and all mowers have the newer OHV Briggs now. I have my Toro 190cc wont ever let it go.

@@jonpenguin303 Yea those Toros with the Briggs Quantum’s sure were the best. I’ve had one with a Honda which was good too and I had one with a Chinese Loncin who makes predator and it had electric start and it ran nice surprisingly, but yea those 190cc Quantum versions can’t be beat. The Kohler version stinks.

There's a Quick Start guide but only diagrams and I don't understand how to adjust the handles because they are too high for me. It has an electric start, but no instructions how to use it. Nice review, and good point about gasoline issues. The ethanol makes the gas oxidize very quickly now, so it has to be drained or stabilized with an additive. Most people don't bother, and then they write review after review about how these things won't start. What do you think of the Personal Pace system? Is the sliding handle design awkward?

personal pace system is still the best self propel system made to this day for these style mowers in my opinion. been using mine for over 10 years and its made me a lot of money

When you started it did you have to pull the handle near the top at the same time as pulling? I'm using for the first time. It's not new but was sitting in my dad's shed. Looks in excellent condition. It just won't start. I did put gas in it but I think I might need to drain and put fresh gas in.

just bought this mower, the one thing I really dislike is their is no quick drop handle option. You have to unscrew two bolts every time you want to drop the handle for storage. Of course if you never do this it’s not a problem.

Best way is to siphon it out. You can buy the siphon at any auto part store cheap. Or tip it over and drain. But never tip it to the carburator side!

I side discharge all my grass so I dont care for these bag/mulch only mowers. May be fine for a tiny city manicured lawn but they dont work well out here in the country where the grass gets long.

Junk, avoid at all cost. High maintenance. belts difficult to get to, break frequently, difficult to start with high octane, At least 5 carburetor in a bottle in 4 years. Oil black, white smoke. changed the oil anyway, became black immediately. When it runs. great cut. If it stops be prepared to what 30 minutes to restart it. Buy a snapper. when things break at least you can get to them without taking the whole lawnmower apart.

The Toro recycler is the worst lawn mower our family has ever purchased. We bought it in 2010 and IT NEVER WORKED GOOD FROM THE TIME WE PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW AND CAREFULLY TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX. It did not work even after changing the blade, oil, clearing the filter, inspection. All it did from day one is bog, clog, and stall and leave huge clumps 😡🔥👎 The trash-picked 4.0 hp Craftsman no self propel lawn mower never bogged, clogged, or stalled one time and is still in use today. It sipped gasoline instead of guzzling it and blowing the exhaust in your face which the Toro mower did.
