Great fix and you definitely have instant reflexes. I had a 48" exmark that would backfire through the exhaust and would sound like a four ten shotgun when you shut it off. 💥 Thank goodness the new mowers have the fuel cut off solenoid.

Everyone’s holding their breath, waiting to see the pressure washing video on Thursday when we get to see water coming out and turning to icicles as it hits this machine! 😂😉🥶 I had a thought - how about an enclosed, heated pressure washing booth attached to the back side of the building that you drive through on your way inside? Call it The Small Engine Car Wash! 😉😂👍 Seriously, in response to your comment about bringing a dripping wet machine into the shop - two things. Water evaporates but all the trash has to be cleaned up off the floor and everywhere else it lands. The other thing is, I always blow off most of the water before bringing anything inside - my compressor is just inside my garage door for that reason. I understand you’d rather not waste time and effort if a machine ends up not being repaired. The question is, what percentage of equipment really ends up in that category? I guess most of us would prefer to leave the debris and oily grime outside and be able to see everything clearly, working in a more or less clean environment. It’s a nicer environment and much easier to very carefully visually examine a machine in a clean condition. A close, careful inspection is for me the first step on any job. Just my 3 cents, Martin! 😉🥶

Haha this is what the AI auto response comes up with below your message "It would take too long to do that for every machine that comes in. I just clean off anything I need to work on at that moment". Interesting stuff they are coming out with. I would say 5-7 percent is not worth repair that I check out and/or estimate. This would end up being 20 plus hours at the low end per year I would waste on something like this. I understand the want for a clean machine while fixing a machine but it really is a want not a necessity. With our operation it just doesn't make much sense, in most cases to pressure was first. To clean before/during and pressure wash again after depending on the job would be very time consuming and our output would lack. A heated pw booth would be awesome though! As always I appreciate your 3 cents

@@IndRepair Thx, Martin, for your thoughtful response. In the case of your shop, from the way you explain it, that does seem to make more sense. 👍

Was given a Husqvarna YTH 24/48 because of a blown engine. Oil was all over the engine. After inspection come to find out the oil filter was loose. Only thing that was wrong with the mower. 👍
@IndRepair7 күн бұрын
Wow that is one good Husqvarna with all being wrong with it! For some reason on the Briggs v twin I see probably 40 or 50 filters loose every year. Kind of crazy I wonder why just on those maybe too close to the engine base so people can't grip as well?
@porkypineacres35366 күн бұрын
@ I agree. It takes some effort and concentration to install the filter correctly.

From what I gathered, when a briggs carb has a curved gas inlet, and straight hose, it usually is the carb for lower horsepower, 16.5hp and below, and the ones with the straight gas inlet, and the curved hose is 17hp and above, single cylinder on both, just what I have noticed over the years.
@IndRepair7 күн бұрын
I think you may be right, I use this one on both of them and rarely have to change the jet size but when I do I solder and drill it out. Works awesome. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3TMmpikaKipaMk

When I service the air cleaner on my machine, I like to put a rag down in the hole to keep dirt out. When I went to the shed to get my machine to mulch leaves it acted like the smart choke was stuck in the choke mode. So I pushed it to the shop to check out the issue and lo and behold I had left the rag in the air cleaner hole. Engine couldn't get any air to run. What's funny is after I serviced the air filter and left in the rag, I drove it from the shop to the shed without any problem. Go figure...
@IndRepair9 күн бұрын
Haha that is great! I have someone once tell me he just replaced the sump gasket on a Kohler 19 and it was locked up. When I opened it up there was a rag left inside. Did absolutely no damage just got it out and everything got put back together and worked perfect. Got to love it

I own a zeroturn like this one I went through three engines the engine that was originally on it was super underpowered the second engine I had on it would burn oil and it spun the rings and the third engine it's a V-Twin and it's all right
@IndRepair9 күн бұрын
Definitely feel like the Kawasaki or Kohler V twin engine is the way to go for this set up. Even though a 19-21 hp should be enough power many only have the 17-18 hp engines on them from the factory

Just all the excess burning off the exhaust. Many times it takes 20-30 minutes to burn everything off depending on how much was sent into the exhaust. Part two will be here tomorrow and will show it all finished up

Not being critical, but wondering 🤔 why you didn't blow/pressure wash first.😮 6:23
@IndRepair9 күн бұрын
I rarely do, depends on the situation but I prefer to clean/vacuum first and make sure the thing was even worth a pressure washing. Especially true when it is 10 degrees out

Did not clean out the oil and debris laden cooling fins on the side and bottom of the cylinder. Then ran it with no fan shroud making it very hot as evidenced by the cloud of smoke coming from oily debris at the end.
@IndRepair8 күн бұрын
Definitely cleaned the cooling fins out well but they were not even plugged or have any debris in them. Your mower will definitely not overheat running it without the fan shroud for 20 minutes in normal weather let alone when it is 10 degrees outside. The smoke is coming from the oily residue on the muffler. See the video release tomorrow that clearly shows where the smoke is coming from. Any time you have this much buildup you are going to get some smoking for a while. Muffler hot

If it’s 10 degrees you should be home setting in front of the fire watching TV or utube 😊😊😊

It is a huge pet peeve of mine when I see people work on dirty equipment. No way it enters my shop without at least getting sprayed off before.
@IndRepair8 күн бұрын
So you put dripping wet equipment in the shop to be worked on? Even stuff that doesn't run that needs dragged or pushed into position to be washed then the same to get inside? Long as it gets cleaned off what does it matter?

@frankie7508 Hey Frankie, I watch all his videos. I know he will get to it eventually. I am just expressing my concern that wasn't done first, seeing the shape it was in. Very hard to find leaks and worn/broken parts if they're covered with oil and trash.
