Hi Mark, I am not sure if your audience would agree with me (maybe you can do a poll), but I would like to see more of when you launch the seadoo. This way I get to see what the launch site looks like, the parking, the fees. This gives the viewers an idea of what to expect...if a cement or sandy launch etc. Thanks for considering this 👍

That is a great idea so thank you for asking. I have tried in the past to do a time laps of me taking the sea doo out at the end of the ride but to show the ramp and launch in a bit more detail is a great idea. Now would you think it best right at the start or like the map leave till the end so you see the launch and the map if your interested?

@@MarkForrestAdventures From a story telling perspective, I think showing both the launch and map at the beginning is beneficial. In story telling there is a definite beginning, middle, and the end. It's like "Dora the Explorer". I don't know if your daughter ever watched Dora, but basically at the beginning of the episode Dora explains the plan for the day on the map (beginning); then Dora follows through with the map plan (middle), and at the end she reviews the journey (the end). Perhaps on your episodes you show the launch and explain the map (beginning), then you do it (middle). Then finally you reveal the details of how many km, how much gas, and how much time went by. You can even give a review if you recommend that trip or if you would do the trip again (the end). On a side note / alternatively, I've mentioned this to you in a previous video comment; you can even monetize this launch / map information as bonus material for subscribers. If you started a Patreon, you can post a bonus video just for Patreon subscribers that reveals the launch and map information. This way, you can leave your video format as is for free on KZbin; and then you can create the bonus material for Patreon paid subscribers. If you offer this content for free now on KZbin and then try to switch it up later on Patrreon, you might upset the audience with the changes. Therefor I recommend seriously thinking through the monetization in advance. You can even produce a "PWC for Beginners" course on your website. That's another way to monetize your work. Hope this helps -Addison

Thank you for the feedback and info. I think what I might do is just a separate video showing about the ramp and area and maybe put those videos under the membership area so thank you again for these ideas Addison all the best Cheers!

Another great video! Thank you Mark! I have a question for you: how do you manage to get all the perfect water conditions? :-) I tried windy, predictwind, and a couple of other apps and total disappointment. The night before the wind shows one direction and then you launch and it's the total opposite direction.
@MarkForrestAdventures

Thank you so much! lol that is the million dollar question right. I have tried all those apps you have listed and none have ever been good at getting the winds right on the lakes. They seam to be more for ocean winds and waters. So one day I was at a marina and saw this one they were using and asked and they said it is the best for getting inland water and winds right. It is called Ventusky and you can just search it on your computer or get the app for your phone. That is what I have been using for the last 4 years and I swear by it. like 1 in 10 times it might not be right but that is way better than all the others. Give it a try and let me know what you think. All the best Cheers!

I have done it a few times in the past and was a cool way to at least hear the music lol, so not sure why there was that block across it this time, kind of sucked would have liked to get a bit closer for that one.

Hey Mark another great video! I’m a new sub that found you through Nigel’s vids. I’m torn between a Switch and a GTX. What do you like best and least about both machines?
@MarkForrestAdventures
@MarkForrestAdventures 11 ай бұрын
Thank you so much and thanks for checking the videos out really do appreciate it! Ok so few questions to ask to see what would be best. Is it just you going out and wanting to explore or more of a friends and family day on the water ride. For the GTX I love where it can take you to explore and have all the ability and safety to do that kind of trips. For the Switch I like it for the space for longer rides and to have friends and family come out and enjoy how nice it is to be out on the water with the switch. As for Down sides very few for both I really love the GTX and just need more time on the Switch but for the Switch towing it would be the only issue as it is like a wind anchor lol so not one that I would move around to much where with the GTX you almost don't even know it is back there. Hope that helps and if you have any other questions please let me know. All the best Cheers!

@@MarkForrestAdventures Thanks so much for the reply. It would be almost entirely myself and my wife. We come from a motorcycle touring and boating background, we really want to just tour around beautiful waterways and the GTX has the motorcycle feel we like but the comfort of the Switch is something to make me think.
@MarkForrestAdventures
@MarkForrestAdventures 11 ай бұрын
In that case I might suggest looking at the GTX limited. That unit give you a lot of comfort and still lets you get into some amazing places when you go out exploring that you would not be able to get to if you were on the Switch. The Switch to me is for staying at your lake for the season and taking friend and family out for a nice short cruise. Sound like to me you both are looking to find new places so I would go with the GTX. It is so stable and reliable you can't go wrong. Hope that helps and please do keep me posted on what you end up doing. Cheers!

Nice you will really like it. If you are looking to buy and are ok with a drive to Oakville you should see my guys at Energy Powersports and as to talk with Neil he will take good care of you. Plus their service team is the best there is. Hope to see you out on the waters sooner than later !!

Hey Mark, do you require a permit or pass to venture into the Toronto harbor?
@MarkForrestAdventures
@MarkForrestAdventures 11 ай бұрын
There is a permit but I have never got one and really only think it is for larger boats over like 15 ft but not sure. But if you just go slow and stay out of the airport waters ( well marked ) you should be fine. like I said in all my years never got one and never stopped and everyone I know is the same so should be good. But worth the trip just to see it from the water!

Hey sorry ya I try to put a map of the rides at the end of all the videos just to help show where I start and how far and how much fuel I use. But yes in this video we went out from the humber bay launch. It can be quite busy there just an fyi. But good place to start from if you are looking to explore around the city. Thanks so much for checking out the video and for reaching out and if you have any other questions just let me know Cheers!
