That Saturday night we decided to go for another drive to show you Christmas lights and New Year decorations in Toronto! We drove from Summerhill along Mt. Pleasant Road to Lawrence Park and back to Yonge-Eglinton by Avenue Road and Toronto Uptown area.
Summerhill is a neighborhood in central Toronto located north of Downtown. It was named after Summer Hill house, built in 1842 by Canadian transportation magnate Charles Thompson. Much of the area was once part of the original Thompson estate but was subdivided for development during the following decades (Wiki). Summerhill with its expensive historic and modern homes is one of the most preferred neighborhoods to live in all of Toronto.
Toronto's Mount Pleasant Village area welcomes its guests with countless coffee shops, cozy restaurants, and antique shops. It's Midtown Toronto's number one shopping destination with more than 200 small businesses offering its services to Torontonians and tourists. Mount Pleasant Road itself is one of the major arterial roads in Toronto extended from Jarvis Street south of Bloor Street north to Glen Echo Drive. It was constructed in 1915 and took its name from the Mount Pleasant Cemetery through center of which it passes.
Lawrence Park is a neighborhood in Toronto located between Yonge Street on the west and Bayview Avenue on the east, and Blythwood Ravine on the south and Lawrence Avenue on the north. Lawrence Park was one of Toronto's first planned garden suburbs. It's one of Toronto's most exclusive residential neighborhoods.
